Patch for the 2.7.9 patch?

was it just me who had problems with the 2.7.9 patch? heres how it went for me...
round 1: downloaded 220MB patch, installed, verified for a bit...ERROR - restart launcher...
round 2: downloaded 220MB patch, installed, verified for a bit while back-tracking (doing a little, then going back and doing same bit again), gets to the end and then starts a 6.848 GB download through the launcher. killed the launcher, try again...
round 3: downloaded 220MB patch, installed, verified for a bit watching the completion bar flicker quickly, ERROR - restart client.
round 4: RESTORED 'Zeni' folder from backup from 2 hrs before server maintenance started, then downloaded 220MB patch, verified for a bit...ERROR, same as round 1, chose REPAIR...
repair round 5: repair-downloaded, verified, starts a 6.848 GB download... it will takes 8 hrs (if i am lucky), so i will let u know how it goes...
i am not optimistic...
