login issues post patch

so i wanted to do quick writs in a morning before going off to adult. but... when trying to log in, I get stuck on an infinite loading screen. well.. mostly infinite. loading screen stays until I get a message "logged out due to inactivity"

I have never had this issue before. this started after this morning's maintenance. please advise?

This is also currently happening to me. First I could not get the patcher to run. It would hit 42%, loop back a couple times, then tell me there is a file open somewhere and to please close the program (like the game), yet nothing was open. Restarting my computer fixed that issue. But now, I am stuck on an "infinite" load screen trying to get to character select until I get timed out for inactivity. I have also never had this issue before.
I've tried restarting my computer as well as shutting it down and powering it back on.

Did you check your CPU usage?
I have the same loading screen and when I checked I saw eso use up almost 100% of my CPU.
Kills my 2nd screen when i try to log in too.

I'm getting an infinite load screen after logging in. (Bothe NA and EU servers) I've already restarted my computer.
My CPU usage is only 17%.

Same issue here. At first it was issues with having to restart the download due to a file somehow being in use during the patching (which was resolved by restarting my computer). Now I have the concern with an infinite loading screen after typing in my login details.

Same here. Had a day at home and.... couldn't log on. Any news on this? Solutions? Something?

I've solved this problem by switching off some add-ons. The greatest memory eater - Master Merchant. I still can't login, when it is active (I have only 4 Gb memory)

I too was having issues with patching, resulting in an error telling me a file was in use, and restarting my computer also helped, and then I also got an infinite load screen until getting logged out from inactivity, however I tried repair from the launcher again afterwards and that seemed to fix it for me at least, I can log in properly again, no infinite load screens, didn't touch my add-ons.
