Questions about "biting jabs" (axe bleed, spriggan)

Hey,

because I find many older different infos.

1. does biting jabs proc the axe bleed or only the la if weaving?
2. does spriggan set work with biting jabs?
3. does ravager proc biting jabs?
4. any other things which are tricky i need to know about biting jabs ?
5. does thaumaturge increaae the DMG of biting jabs?

1. No, only chance is from weaving light attacks and low chance.

4. pretty strait up. tool tip explains it all.
5. yea, jabs is a dot

Spriggan affect biting jabs and every physical, poison and disease damage.
For ravager, I dunno, we need to test it. On the same point, I wonder if swift warrior (Orc passive, 4% more damage for close ranged skill) affect it. I'll probably pass on the PTS in order to test.

So, after testing a lot of skills with a templar orc, here's my conclusions. All tests were done with a naked level 50 orc, with absolutely no passive (except swift warrior when needed), no cp, no armor/jewelries, with level 1 weapons for weapons skills and bare fist for non-weapons skills.

* Absolutely no magicka skills are boosted. Swift warrior does nothing with magic damage, including ultimates. Radial sweep and puncturing strike, especially, take no boost (when crescent sweep and jabs both got the boost).
* Swift warrior doesn't affect pure dot, but it affect chanelled dot (jabs).
* Burning light is considered as a close combat damage, since it is boosted even at 28 meter with both piercing javelin morph.
* Gap closer (critical charge) are boosted.
* Twin slashes' second hit is buggued, not affected by swift warrior nor thaumaturge.
* Flurry is buggued and doesn't get a bonus from swift warrior, which is a major issue for orcs.
* The break point seem to be 8-9 meter. Jabs is at 8 and got it, steel tornado is at 9 and doesn't get it (when whirlwind take it).
* Trap doesn't get the boost.


I'll test DK, sorc and NB orc later, but expected results are :
- venomous take the boost, but not the dot part.
- breath take nothing (10 meter).
- chocking talon may get the boost.
- dragon leap take the boost.
- hurricane's first hit may take the boost, and perhaps the entire skill. Or not.
- incapacitating strike, killer's blade, ambush and surprise attack take the boost.
- sap essence may or may not take the boost.

For stamplar you want to mainhand axe, offhand dagger. Light attack weave like so:

Jabs
Double tap light attack, hit jabs again. Weaves beautifully.

Axe bleed will also proc off weapon skills, such as bloodcraze, steel tornado, blade cloak, rend. Flurry if using vms weapons to buff your dots.

Thanks for the tip, I'll try with my 2H axe (yes, I'm trying a 2h stamplar build for pve, it work enough for 25k dps and with a better close ranged aoe than DW does).

So, testing done for DK, sorcerer and NB. Nearly all result was expected.
- venomous take the boost, but not the dot part : check.
- breath take nothing : wrong, the first hit benefit from swift warrior.
- chocking talon may get the boost : nothing.
- dragon leap take the boost : right.
- hurricane's first hit may take the boost, and perhaps the entire skill. Or not : no boost at all.

- sap essence may or may not take the boost : it take the boost, so the break point is between 8 meter (sap essence) and 9 meter (steel tornado).

Still, flurry doesn't benefit from swift warrior, and it's the most-used skill on the stamina tool. It's a real problem, who further hit orsimer utility in term of dps.
But from these data, an orsimer stamblade for non-dot gameplay (pvp?) is clearly the highest damaging race for stamblade.
