Who else appreciates the eso events? There's the anniversary event, witches festival, new life, 2x AP event ( No cp testing), upcoming jester event, maelstrom 2x drop and prob others i've missed. Doing small stuff like this is great for MMORPG's moving forward right? Let me know your thoughts and what you would like to see in the future!

I don't like that everyone gets thrown into (mostly) the same instances. Other than that, I enjoyed the Witches and New Life events the most.

I was away from game for the last events but I do like the sound of them and look forward to the next one.

My only hope is ZOS don't go down the route of SWTOR and have events every month, as generally there is a big benefit to partaking in them and for the week then run each month it's focus on that one set of content.

There should be an event every month for a few days, small events don't have to be big.

I love the events! They've done an awesome job, I just hope that in the future they decorate for major ones a little more. Not every town but maybe the capitals where undaunted is. Put some lore behind it and it would be awesome.

Want a community based event. Such as kill 100,000 trial bosses. Or the whole game must kill the Serpent 100,000 times in a weekend and get a unique reward. For taking part (like finishing the vet quest) and get something like an item / costume / poly. Double crap is only good if the crap is worth while. Double vma drops were great until I got what I wanted, nodes who cares seriously. Soul shriven skin great if you could get in the centre.

But times community events would actually work very well tbh. If only zos could get out of the crown store and sort themselves out.

Those events means excessive grinding at bosses, which is good from some point of view, but for me there should be dynamic events like in Guild Wars 2. Unpredictible bosses appearing in random locations or running a trip over the map looking for brave players ready to face them, unlike those stand-still creatures we see now. Imagine you quest in some area and suddenly you see one of Molag Bal's Generals either dropping from the skies or lured out from deep lake by your passing by noise. Add some unpredictible bosses no one can expect to see, surprise us with your creativity please, I'm sure the game's engine is ready for this :).

I always plan ahead what I will do in eso. So when a "timed" event comes (for example with achievements & rare items) it just spoils my plans... and I am forced to grind those achievements & items, just because they are "timed" and I won't be ably to grind them later...

As for me, I really liked how SWTOR did it. Due to amount of events and emphasizing on different type of dailies each week the world felt much more alive and less repetitive.

In ESO it could be weekly rotation of double reward for guild quests/double chance on rare motives/so on

On one hand, I enjoy that ZoS organise events but that comes with a cost, which made me vote for the 3rd option, that when an event is up, everyone will be flocking over to do it and thus creating craaaazy lag. Remember New Lag Festival?
I hated that so much, it took away approx. 2 weeks worth of my playtime which I scarcely have and I didn't even get to participate in it due to frequent DCs every 2 mins of login.
It infuriates me till now because ZoS is attempting a futile action to find the cause of lag in CP when intuition tells me that CP isn't the problem based on conclusive observations that the horrible lag episodes have been there anytime when there are tons of players in one cramped instance and the use of, what I suspect that aggravates the already-laggy connection, certain and widely-used addons like Miat's and M.M (to name a few) which rely on constant and almost realtime information feeds. Don't even get me started on UI addons.

Those addons eat up huge connections from and to clients and servers on top of stressing local hardwares in an advent of receiving information overload at one period of time as I am sure everyone is aware of.

I wish they took these events to the next level though. Decorations for Witches Festival and New Life Festival should be all over Tamriel in Capital cities to make it look like entire Tamriel is celebrating and not just one little area.

Wouldn't add anything to the server. Just have different event specific templates of each city.

Guild Wars does it. They just swap out a capital city to a decorated one during that event.

I wish they'd put more time into making the events, as they are all really just seasonally themed grinds that seem to be less about the event you are supposed to celebrate and more about farming the s**t out of whatever it is you are supposed to farm. I mean the first event, Witches Festival, was basically "grind bosses", and the New Life Festival was "grind dailies". They could be a lot smarter about it and actually incorporate dungeons / trials / PvP into it by making them part of the seasonal event, by having special loot drops from endgame bosses, changing one or two dungeons into being all about that event (something which WoW did extremely well), and having special rewards from killing players / taking keeps. They could also make events that have a cooldown, like a zone boss or something that require lots of people to take down.

A lot of people probably don't agree with these opinions, but honestly I feel like they barely put any work into the seasonal events and mostly just have them to sell crown store stuff, like how New Life had the overly expensive horse-reskinned-into-an-elk-but-still-being-a-horse-in-everything-but-name.

Something which has always bothered me as an ESO player is that ZOS seems more content with fumbling blindly through various areas of the MMO genre rather than learning from the experiences of other MMOs before them. There's no need to try and invent the wheel if someone already did it before you, and if they could simply look to other games in the genre they could learn a lot about what to do and not to do. I'm obviously not saying they should copy-paste, but they could at the very least draw some inspiration.

I would like to see more events intended to get people to try PVP. Maybe double AP weekend from time to time, or some similar event.

PVP population used to be much larger. At one time, we had ten campaigns and battles all over the map, 24/7, even weeknights. Now we have only one high population campaign, and even that one is dead sometimes late at night.

A lot of the people who play in PVP a lot started out at one time entering Cyrodiil only to get some skill line for PVE but got hooked and never left.

This week we got a lot of new players again and hopefully some will stick around.

I liked the New Life Festival, that one was fun.

I was disappointed with the Witches Festival because in about an hour I'd completed the "quest" and killed a handful of bosses to get some drops, and then it turned out the only thing left to do was keep grinding bosses for the same drops. Fortunately I only really wanted the Hollowjack motif which was so common people were literally giving it away, so I just waited until the end of the event to pick some up.

Things like the 2x AP I don't really think of as an event, in other games something like that would be a standard weekly or monthly bonus. It's a nice thing to have but not really a special event.

To be fair to Bioware that was one aspect of the game they got almost entirely right.

The different events kicking in, especially with the PSA notifications about them made things feel very dynamic and in your face.
