Alternative button mapping for Bar Swap? (console)

I hope I not the only one, but having to take my hand off the joystick to constantly swap bars is driving me insane. It wouldn't be that bad if the damn game actually registered my input the first five times! Does anyone know of any alternative to the default swap option? Im on Xbox NA.

Thanks

the elite controller lets you map bar swap to a paddle on the rear of the pad, once tried you can never go back!

Damn that paddle mapping sounds tempting af. But that price though....

I was hoping there was some type of setting in game I could change.

Even if you don't have the elite controller you can map your buttons via the accessories app. I don't really know what button you'd put it on but it is available. I agree with XvarleyX, once you go elite you never go back. Between bar swap and picking up synergies, the elite is awesome.

elite controller is worth it in the long run those paddles come in clutch and are super convenient. Im on Xbox NA too and I use 2 paddles 1 for swapping and 1 for potions. Saves alot of time and frustration from using the D pad.

Damn, looks like I'm gonna have to invest in that Elite controller. Sounds too damn convenient to pass up, plus I DO need a new controller as my analog gets stuck in the Up position.

    Thanks for the input.

Before you do, try mapping it to right stick press. This worked wonders for me in ESO, but you might struggle in other games. ;-)

Hold on, I can change the button map to the right stick press in ESO's options?

No, you have to do it in the xbox options. Which means you change it for all games. But if you mainly play ESO it isn't a problem.

It changes every frikin thing. Like pressing left when typing a message becomes right click too. Not very well thought out tbh. But does work a treat in game.

Ahhh I see what you mean now. Yeah I do but *** it might just be worth switching it back and forth between games. The current button mapping has been driving me crazy since release. Having to stop for a brief second in PVP during each bar swap makes a difference, especially when you factor in the lag.

    Thanks!

Damn, I can see how that could get aggravating. I'd have to think about how often I actually use the left click button in ESO besides when swapping bars.

Sucks theres not an easier option for console players but I guess selling a $150 controller is more appealing to Micro$oft.

I thought the same but it makes a huge difference and the game more enjoyable. Think of it as an investment, if you use it for 300+ hours it'll come out at about 50 cent an hour ;)

I'd strongly recommend a controller upgrade... If you do, consider the razer wildcat... it's currently on sale on Amazon for $90. I've been using this and it's definitely a game changer for bar swapping - the only downside is it isn't wireless.

Im intrigued. Never took the Elite controller serious as I thought there was no way in a hell a controller could change my gaming experience a whole $150 worth. But im convinced. Gonna start looking at what deal I can find.

The elite controller for bar swapping alone was worth it. You won't regret making the change.
