Easy Dungeons

I just started playing again pretty recently since Tamriel One came out. It seems that vet dungeons are about the same level they were before, but when I run regular dungeons, they seem like a literal cake walk. The enemies don't seem any harder than over world enemies. I don't remember it being this way before One Tamriel, so I was wondering what changes made this happen.

Yeah I understand what they did, but it seems like all non-vet dungeons are just easy now, no matter what group you have or anything. Maybe I'm just remembering wrong though, thanks!

It also depends on if you get high CP characters like CP 600+ in your group.
If you get stuck with a bunch of level 10-20's with no CP points be prepared for a long run.

Normal 1 version of the Dungeons are easy. Easier than they used to be. That is what they are supposed to be. Are they too easy? That depends on your perspective.

However, you have 4 more tiers of difficulty, all significantly more than what they normal ones were before. Use the II version or the Vet of the I or the II or use Hard Mode. Those will give you the challenge you seek.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Normal dungeons are aimed at levels 10+, so if you're 50+ with cp, normals will be more of a cake walk the higher cp you are.

Well I'm confused about bringing everyone up to the same level then? Let's I'm cp 600 wearing gold crafted gear, would a player who is level 40 wearing the same gold gear and the same skill setup at their level just be doing the 25% less damage from the lack of cp? It just doesn't seem like that's the case.

That has nothing to do with the Dungeons. Everyone is scaled to CP160, or rather given an opportunity to scale to CP160 if they have decent gear. This is true with any PvE Content.

Now, to use your analogy, the L40 would do just fine in Fungal Grotto I. They would need some help from some higher CP ranked or skilled players in Fungal Grotto II. They would have their butts handed to them in Fungal Grotto I Vet mode. They would not make it past the first trash mob pack in Fungal Grotto II Vet Mode. And Hard Mode, forget about it.

Normal Mode dungeons are not necessarily scaled to L10, because that does not mean anything as the L10 is scaled to CP160. Its just they are easier so that people new to Public Dungeons can do group content and not have their butts handed to them and get frustrated with the whole process and quit. There are a lot of people who don't care about max DPS or Gear or any of that. They just want to play the game and enjoy the content. That is who the Normal I dungeons are for.

As has been stated in this thread, if you want a harder Group Dungeon, pick the version and mode that makes it harder for you. If your bored with Normals as a group, then solo them. You have 5 levels of difficulty, find the one that meets your challenge needs.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I understand the tier difficulty, but if every player is scaled to the enemy, then what makes the difference between two people who are geared exactly the same for their level minus the 25% damage boost due to champion points?

Although players under 160 are scaled up, this doesn't mean their stats are the same as a 160.

A quick way you can check this is to make your 600 character naked then compare to a fresh character with the same cp allocation. The stats will be completely different.

Then you also have to consider that lower characters don't have access to all the passives and skills yet.

Edit: also you will most likely gold your 160 gear. I very much doubt you will gold any gear before then as you would out level it too quick and it would be super expensive.

Its far better to get the 10-20 than an cp20 if the cp20 is as skilled because of the combat scaling, an level 20 do lot of damage even with low skill.
Grinding just make you go in circles.

I get that I most likely won't gold my gear... but with skyshard skill points and me choosing to gold my gear at a low level, does this mean I could potentially have a character at level 40 that is just 4/5 of the max skills and stats as a player at 600 cp (4/5 being derived from the champion point max of 25%)?

Also let's say I'm leveling an alt and I already have 600 cp, and enough mats to gold his gear. Does this mean that there's the potential to pull as much dps at 40 as the same character at 600 cp because my level is scaled to that of the enemy's?

No, even if everything is the same a lvl40 character will not do the same dps as a CP600.

Under CP 160 characters are scaled up to 160.
Over 160 are not scaled down.

Well I was sitting in stonefalls and a group of newbies wanted help with a normal fungal grotto 2, ... so I joined as my cp 300 MagDK mage that i normally run dungeons with.

Couldn't do it, we didn't have the DPS we didn't have the tankiness. They were level 20-45 ish They actually didn't have all the abilities yet to output the nessiary DPS or tank (We had a level 40 tank but no healer).

Whille I tanked with this same light armor MagDK (vampire) and another MagDK mage through CoA1 when we were both 250 cpish.

I had a full group (200- 500 cp) to try and run Vet Darkshade Caverns 2 and we couldn't get past the Netch Boss :/ and gave up.

The version 1 is much much easier than version 2 of dungeons.

Not to criticise you but if you can't get through nFG2 as thie high CP maybe you need check your rotation. Only fight in there that would be problematic is 1st boss when he chains you down and if the 3 others didn't free you other than that it should be easy.

If healer not healing, just use your light armour shield and heal through; ultimates, burning embers, inhale - good for trash pulls (if u have it on)

Yes, Normal mode is much easier than it was prior to 1T.

Vets still feel about the same. Vets still give the higher quality loot. Vets also give 2 Undaunted chest keys because of the hard mode option for the final boss, which doesn't happen in Normal mode.

Once you are prepped for Vets, there isn't much reason to go back to Normal.

Change the record. The problem isn't the filthy casuals and dumbing down for them, it's the designers have no idea how to give PVE any sort of identity that isn't a pidgeon hole. To be fair, they can only do so much with a system predominantly designed for PVP.

This is really the size of it, exept for one thing. Vet takes longer. That's about it, the health and resistances increased so they take longer.

Honestly, I used to run vets daily way back in the day. I dont know. Why? The artificial extension of the dungeons is boring. I dont want to sit here and and do the dungeon for an -hour- each. The pre one tam vet difficulty was fine. I have my monstersets, which I dont use half the time because I dont need to use them on a tankbuild, so, I just. Dont.

    To the OP:

The main problem is just the fact that in order for ZOS to design content with any nuance, they'd need to throw this horrible mix and match system they have now out, and give us something concrete. The system is crippled because of how the system was designed, a classic example of PVP development focus hurting PVE in the long run.

No, because you would not have all the passives for the Classes and Armor and Weapons, and you would be missing a good chunk of the Active skills too. You could probably squeak by without all the actives, but those passives really make a difference.

If you're going in manually it's setto the group leader vs using the activity finder, however it's suppose to be very easy as it's for levels 10+
