So I reached cp 160 finally. But from what I hear all it means is you've reached the gear cap. You can't really do dungeons until higher cp. The question is what cp should I grind to so I can start doing dungeons and what not. I would like to be able to compete meaning not just survive in dungeons and what not but to actually do damage.

I know some of you will say " you shouldn't grind. You should quest and take it slow. You need to really enjoy the game". Well the thing about that is i can only play on the weekends, in how ever much free time that is, if any. So if I were to " take it slow" then I prob wouldn't be anywhere close to max level for a good year or two.

Nah, you can do vet dungeons now. Maybe not the DLC ones, but the base ones for sure.

Some people might complain or vote to kick but in my opinion at CP160 you're ready to go.

Also, you should edit post instead of double posting :p

Don't hop into a vet dungeon without a real build.

You can be cp 400+ but will still be kicked for harding frags or spaming snipe.

    - Normal dungeons = any level
    - Normal DLC dungeons = CP 1+
    - Level I vet dungeons = CP 1+
    - Level II vet dungeons = CP 200+
    - Vet DLC dungeons = CP 300+

Well that's the thing. Since I haven't done and can't really do dungeons yet, the only sets I can use are crafted.

Build doesn't mean gear, they mean skills rotation.

    Agreed.
Besides CP160 crafted gear will be good enough while you farm the dropped gear you want.

You can buy some decent BOE sets for dungeon crawling. That plus crafting and you'll be good.

160 is fine. Optimize gear, skill rotation and learn dungeon mechanics and you'll be able to contribute to a team.

I think CoA 2 is more towards 350-400 so many adds, crazy damage needed

If you can find a guild or get some friends there is no reason why you can't be running any vet dungeon now. Sure, you will find some tough but you will learn a lot about the mechanics and you might have fun. I would just avoid group finder as that can bring some unfriendly people into the group who assume you want a free ride.

Some of the crafted sets are great and will carry you all the way through trials. Upgrade them to at least purple (I'd do gold if you plan on using them for a while).
