Random disconnects replaced the lag - why has this game so many technical issues?

The lag outside of PvP is pretty acceptable this week but another issue (that's even more annoying) are the permanent disconnects. I played today 3 hours and had 7-8 DCs while questing. I never had DCs outside of Cyrodiil before Homestead (XOne) but since Homestead I had 20+ disconnects. They happen randomly without any specific indicator - sometimes while I am fighting quest mobs, sometimes when I am doing Dolmens, sometimes when I am just checking my character screen or inventory.

What happened? I mean the lag was / is a huge problem but those disconnects are an entirely new “level“ of ESOs technical failures. And no, it's neither my connection (I play other online games as well and don't disconnect at all) nor my fault at all.

I'm so glad I play on PC...I haven't had any technical issues of note in forever. Pretty much for the last year, nothing but stability.

I feel for you console players though. The frequency of maintenance for console that I see to address problems is kind of absurd. Also the amount of posting from console players experiencing technical issues seems to be rather high.

Well you do have an optimistic way of looking at things. If the PC stability is any indication or trend, then you can look forward to things improving. When the game first released on PC there were numerous problems that took a long time to fix. I know the console versions have been out a while...hopefully it will get better.

    Good luck!

Ive been dealing with the random D/C's for the last 6 months. about the time of 1T i think. It is almost a guarantee that i get kicked out of trials at least once. In PvP i get kicked every 30 mins or so. PC N/A

But why? I don't get it. What could cause this issue? I mean lags happen due to server overload (or bad connection but that's not the case when we talk about ESO lags) but disconnects? Something must be really wrong there when I get kicked without (?) a reason. Happened 1min ago again. Did a quest, run to the exit and wish, disconnect while running. ???

I had zero disconnects outside of Cyrodiil 2017... until Homestead came last week. That update made everything worse technically.

It feels like every half an hour you get a disconnect. And mostly when it's important to stay online, e.g. fighting named mobs or finishing dolmens...

The game closed down earlier when I accessed a wayshrine (PC EU), but that's probably only the second or third time in almost 3 years so I don't regard it as significant. I was able to log back in and use the wayshrine ok. I've never had any lag doing solo/co-operative PvE.
