Upgraded gfx card = lower performance

Hi,
I've recently "upgraded" from geforce gtx 650 (500mb) to geforce gt 730 (2gb) and this has resulted in a quite severe hit to my performance. On the exact same (low-ish) settings I've gone from 60 fps to around 20 fps with fps around 10 if I use a skill.
And I'm like, what?
Please advise. Thank you.

ThePlacidHatter✭✭✭GTX 650 to GT 730 is a downgrade (quite a significant one). The first number simply indicates which series the card is from. It's the following numbers which matter.
Also, GTX 650 didn't have 500mb VRAM.1 -

✭✭Yes, the GT only series are multimedia cards (HD vid accelerators).
The GTX cards are gaming cards.
