Speedster Gathering with NB + Concealed Weapon

I was thinking of using one of my characters for a fast gatherer. I would want to be on foot a lot because my gathering loops are pretty dense with mats. I would prefer not to be sprinting everywhere (hard to explain why, but there it is) or casting buffs every 4 seconds. I also would want to avoid aggro on mobs unless it cannot be avoided.

Here is what I was thinking:

Remove sneak speed penalty: Shadow Dancer Raiment (light/magic) or Night’s Silence (medium/stamina) or Vampire

Minor expedition + 10% : Jailbreaker set (Banished cells / medium / Stamina)

Major expedition + 30% : Rapid Maneuver (PvP / Stamina) for 30 seconds

Concealed weapon (nightblade/magicka) : 22% speed increase when stealthed or invisible

Full bonus run (non-sprinting) for 30 seconds (rapid maneuver time) while stealthed : 10 % +30% + 22% = 62%

Is there any incorrect information here? Is there any better way?

What makes this work is the Concealed weapon. I have two NB's : one magic and one stamina. Ideally I would want to use the stamina NB because of stealth costs, maxed medium armor skills, etc. But converting Surprise attack to Concealed weapon would be necessary to get that +22% movement buf, completely breaking an Iconic Stam NB attack. But if I do this with my Magicka NB I will probably have some stamina issues I will need to overcome with gear and enchants while still trying to keep enough dps to deal with some hostile mobs as the need arises. My Magicka NB already has max crafting skills + master gatherer so I will probably go that route.


I am open to ideas on the whole concept.

You can use double take and cloak when you don't have enough stamina for rapid maneuver and normal stealth. Yes it's 2 buffs every few seconds but only until your stamina is back up to use normal stealth and rapid. Having a stam regen drink while farming nodes would help with your magicka setup. I would imagine having the pure magicka option to allow stam to regen would allow for no downtime of the speed.

Also consider potions that restore stam and/or grant a speed bonus. I know thieves troves have them and I think crafted are available.

I tried a partial implementation last night. I don't have jailbreak set yet for the Minor Speed. What I found was that my Magicka NB stealth is very bad, so every mudcrab within eyesight knocks drops the concealed weapon bonus. What I don't know is how much stealth bonus will be required. On my +stealth assassin character I have Racial + 7 medium + 2 set stealth bonus and can almost stand inside people and not be detected. But where in the range of no stealth -> maximum stealth will facilitate running at 62% overland without being detected... that I don't know. I am loathe to change my race on my Magicka NB just for this. That leaves Medium Armor bonus + 1 set (if I go vamp for stealth management)
