mounts

Dribbling_Giant
It would b great if there were different types of mounts at the stables. In game. They could even have beginners mounts to expert level.
Mounts for the players with little gold. Just to start off with to get around a bit easier. Then they could trade in for the next level etc etc??
Thoughts!!

Won't happen for the same reason we've only had the same 4 mounts available at stables since launch: zos is making too much money off cstore mounts

Pakhet - Khajiit Dragonknight - Tank
Raksha - Khajiit Sorcerer - Stamina DPS

I don't think you're going to see this sadly as the main location for mounts is now the Crown Store.

The 17,000g Horse doesn't take too long to get if you sell off materials and such early on to other players (getting a trade guild early really helps you make money).

A basic mount can be purchased for 900g as well or 1,200 starter pack which is of a little better value.

I know "buy stuff for RL money" isn't really helpful but that's somewhat the way ZOS have gone with ease of use coming from the store.

The mounts are really just cosmetic, the important thing is character riding skill. For this reason I don't think there will be beginner to expert mounts, the mount doesn't matter to riding skill.

Technically the trainer in Kvatch actually has dire wolves in their stable, you just can't buy them unless you go to the cash shop

Sadly, this game is another cash elitist paradise, yet another thing in the world where the poor get a second rate experience.
Personally, I have enough cash floating about that I can afford to be quite wasteful in the crown shop, but I still don't think it's fair.
That's the world though, if you want nice stuff in games now, in app purchases are the way to go.
Don't even get me started on the fact they do have a monthly sub and the most useful item in the game by far is locked behind it. Games used to be for fun, now they are rifled with cheap corporate marketing ploys. Avarice is a global sickness.

Now excuse me, I'm off to the crown store to spend another $50 for crates of *** I won't get anything I need from.

They actually used to have this system at launch - you started off with the brown horse which costs 10,000g or the 1g Imperial horse if you had the Imperial Edition. Then later on you bought a 42,000g horse which started with 10 points in one of the stats and could train that one up to be 10 points higher than any other horse could get. (For example the paint horse started with 10 points in carrying capacity and could train it up to 60, whereas any other horse could only reach 50.)

I think the system we have now is better. You can still buy the 'basic' horse for 10,000g (which seems like a lot when you're brand new but it's not that hard to save up, especially since you don't have a lot of other stuff to buy when you're new) but now there is no need to upgrade unless you want a different colour (or a different animal) because other than appearance that horse is completely identical in every way to every other mount in the game.

If you have the basic brown horse and someone else has one of the 42,000g horses and a 3rd person has a special, limited-edition super-flashy crown store mount the only difference between them will be your riding skills (and you can all get the same skills) - if you all have the same number of points in each skill all 3 mounts will run at the same speed, take the same amount of damage, give you the same number of bag slots and so on. Literally the only difference is how they look.

Which means if you don't care what they look like you can just buy the basic horse and then focus on upgrading it by training your riding skills. You only need to buy a new one if you want a different look.

Morrowind needs to have riding guars in their stables instead of the same four tired old horse colors that are in literally every ... single ... stable .... in ... the ... whole ... world. :|

I said this in another thread a week or two ago, but it needed repeating.

I think it would be great, especially to those whom cannot get crowns for crown purchased mounts. it'd be easier also to buy them and see what is available, like if they made some mounts you could only buy in certain regions. that'd be awesome. I doubt they'd ever do that though.
