So, I Can't Learn High Elf Shelf, Long Because I Already Know High Elf, Short ?

So the title says it all for the most part. I put it here and not in crafting section because it's not a crafting issue but a general game issue.

It is a bit crappy to find out I can't learn a pattern because I already know a very similar item BUT NOT THE SAME ITEM!!!! What it that crap?

Is anyone else having a similar issue with other items?

I thought they might use the same item ID, but I just checked and they don't. That is strange.

I know there is a bug where you can't learn blueprints if you bought them from a player who is a higher level than you (if you are below level 50). Could that be the case here?

That's weird, because I was able to learn both long and short, both are high elf as well.

Found them myself, so no buying from another and on xbox, if that's of any use.

That's messed up. @MLGProPlayer could be right about the underlying issue, but one way or another it ain't right.

I got a recipe for Khajiit Desk, Faded and learned it and I did a double take when it said I had learned Khajiit Dresser, Faded. I thought I was seeing things and moved on.

Then I got the same exact recipe again farming an hour later - Khajiit Desk, Faded. The info text on the actual recipe says "Creates a level 1 Khajiit Dresser, Faded". If I look in my woodworking menu, I indeed can only make a dresser, not a desk.

They seem to have confused some similar-sounding items in the background code. Even though the recipes themselves have different item IDs, they teach the same skill with the same skill ID, so you won't be able to learn it, as the game thinks you already know it.

There was a few bugs with duplicate items on the PTS, and also some with naming issues. There's a good chance they didn't squash them all...
