How do you do it @UrQuan? I've got quite a few master crafters (although I was only 9 traited on 3 guys) and focus my motifs and whatnot now on one guy much like you. I just can't bring myself to cycle through that many writs. Cleaning up inventory from all the killing I do seems to take all my time nowadays. 7 days now on console and I nearly doubled my voucher count yesterday with a 39 voucher BS writ (nirnhoned, epic). Funnily enough it came from my least skilled crafter doing his first max level BS writ.

So after about 240 writs in a week I have 86 vouchers, with another 18 that I could not redeem due to lack of motif knowledge for 3 MW's. I am not going to chase up the likes of Akaviri or Malacath motifs for a handful of vouchers.

I am keeping a spreadsheet as I do writs, so will see how it progresses.

    Good info here.

Have you or anyone else earned a 0 voucher master writ to craft a eyes of Mara Ancient Orc helm?

If so are these things worth doin for 0 vouchers or is that a bug?
I haven't - all of the ones I've received seemed perfectly normal, and I was able to complete all of them with no difficulties (aside from the 2 provisioning ones, which I haven't done yet because I want to do them on my main and I've run out of skill points to put in the passive that makes me craft multiples of an item at a time).
    Edit:
They all appear as 0 until you look at them then it will ask you to accept the quest or not. Once you have gotten to that point it will tell you the amount that it gives and then you can determine if you want to accept the contract or sell the master writ.
Oh good point, it didn't occur to me that this might be what he was talking about. I just always select the "do not start writ" option because I transfer all of the writs I get to my main in order to concentrate all of my writ vouchers on one character.

I am doing master writs on 9 toons and have a very similar spread to what you described in terms of skill level. I wish I would have kept data, but I could probably collect it from sales data as I have sold all but 300 for ebony motif. I definitely have the most from blacksmithing and least from provisioning, but my instinct is that my Enchanting and Alchemy are much higher than what you listed. I also have done pretty solid with wood and cloth. I got several of each in the 50-70 range. I learned every reagent and rune on 8 of the 9 toons. I seem to get a fairly high number of 5 of 6 writ vouchers from alchemy and enchanting, and it looks like you are mostly getting 2 writ vouchers. RNG i guess.
I have yet to receive an alchemy master writ for anything other than either 2 vouchers (which always seems to be asking for 20 poisons) or 5 vouchers (which always seems to be asking for 20 potions). I think that all of my enchanting writs so far have been for 5 or fewer vouchers, but I haven't been paying as close attention to those ones.
Also, the rumor I have heard is that a maxed out crafter (research and motifs) has a higher chance of getting a master writ, but once the writ drops, they are no more or less likely to get a big one. I have seen 70+ vouchers drop from a toon that has no research or purple motif knowledge, but I guess I cant really confirm that either way.
That fits with my experience so far, as I am getting master writs more often on my master crafter, but most of my ones that have been worth a decent amount of vouchers have come from other crafters. Not enough data to confirm it, but it is suggestive.

Thanks, Ur Quan, for making me feel very lucky. I've only done all 6 writs daily on one alt, and less frequently 5 on another and provisioning only on a third. I have 287 vouchers for a lot less work than you did. My main crafter had 100% Crafting achievements pre-Homestead. After your post, I feel like I'm on the right track. >:)
lol I've been making a bunch of other friends and guildies feel luckier than me on master writs for a couple of weeks now, glad I can add you to the list :p

It's pretty disheartening honestly. The amount of time, gold (for motifs, training and mats) to be able to do 1000 max level writes to get a measly ~500 vouchers? We should go join a Korean MMO at this point, because the grinds are just getting insane.
To be perfectly honest it hasn't cost me any gold. It's actually been earning me gold from the writ rewards. I already had 12 characters with all crafting skills maxed out anyway so that their hirelings bring me max-level mats, and having all of those hirelings bringing me max-level mats means that I'm not expending any effort to have the mats to complete these writs (no effort beyond going and collecting stuff from the surveys the writs give me anyway). I also haven't bothered to buy any motifs or recipes that I wouldn't have bought anyway (although I have used some motifs & recipes I've had drop, which usually I would have sold).

For other people it would be a much higher cost in terms of gold and/or time investment.
    amasuriel wrote: »
EDIT: To put this in perspective, this is only 2 attuned crafting stations, which are probably the most functional things you can buy with your vouchers. The rest are purely cosmetic items. Even the crafting stations just save you a few minutes of travel time so are hardly amazing, since everyone has to park their crafters in Belkarth to do writs anyway. It's not like you can keep your crafter in your house.
And there you've hit the nail on the head. Attunable crafting stations are the primary reason why I'm trying to get as many writ vouchers as I can. I have a dream of having attuned crafting stations for the DLC sets (especially the Imperial City ones) in my home so that friends and guildies who don't have access to the DLC can come by and craft those sets. I've clearly got a long way to go towards that goal, as I don't yet have enough vouchers to even get 1 of each station for a single set (Armour Master will be the first one I set up).

    9 max level crafters,
One with all traits, all motifs except the homestead ones, all provisioning recipies known, all runes researched and all alchemical/poison traits known...largest master writ was for 40 vouchers (no master writs in last 6 days)
The other 8 toons with varying number of traits known from 8 to 0 and a smattering of motifs with the largest master writ at 81 and 70 since Homestead dropped. Total number of vouchers since homestead dropped from earned master writs, 267. Absolutely mind boggling.

Whilst I haven't kept a detailed journal I do know one thing...

I have been doing all 6 writs on 5 charachters since launch... 1 master crafter who has 9 traits in everything, all achievements, and all motifs except the new ones, 2 charachters that have a fairly good trait research but only a few motifs, and 2 charachters that are basically crafting rookies...

Whilst it feels like i have got 1 or 2 more writs on my master crafter (Not many though), they have all been for 2-12 vouchers each.

I've had more vouchers drop from the total rookie crafters from their odd 1 or 2 90 voucher master writs.

Basically, the time, effort, gold I have sunk into crafting on my master crafter has been pretty worthless so far.... & given the high level of RNG in the system I suspect that it always will be.

I don't think the quest ever shows the number of vouchers you'll get from it.

Here's the way it currently works on PC (note that it's either badly designed or bugged):

When you open your writ reward urn you see a sealed master writ. If you hover over it without looting it from the urn it won't show you any details of it - you won't see the number of vouchers it's worth or anything.

When you loot the sealed master writ from the urn it will immediately open up a dialogue asking if you want to accept the quest. At this point you have no way of knowing what it's asking you to craft or what the reward for it will be. Because of that, you should never choose the dialogue option to start the quest at this point.

If you choose the dialogue option to not start the master writ quest then the sealed writ will show up in your inventory, and then if you hover over it you'll see what it's asking you to create and what the voucher reward for it will be.

I have no idea if it works the same on console.

Unless your crating character has all traits learned and 90%+ motifs learned + all achievements IT IS NOT WORTH doing clothing, blacksmith & woodworking writs unless you are after gold improvement materials.
It is worth doing Alchemy & Enchanting, since these 2 skills just rely on fairly easily gained achievements to maximize master writ drop rate.
Provisioning writs are broken at the moment with regard to master writ drops, but still worth doing since they are cheap to do and drop ambrosia recipe fragments.

Looks like this turned into a kind of statistics dump of sorts. Well, here's mine for the first 20 days:

    gSC5sET.png

Master Equipment Crafter: 9 traits, all motifs except the 4 new ones, all achievements
Other Equipment Crafters: 7-8 traits, minimal motifs

    Alchemy/Enchanting crafters: all achievements

Provisioning Gold: all purples, 4/6 gold recipes
Provisioning Silver: about half purples, 4/6 gold
Provisioning Bronze: 100 green recipes and that's it

@NewBlacksmurf at this point you can't sell it if that was your goal. Basically it's like @UrQuan said but in my experience after you get the master writ from daily writ and u accept into your inventory a prompt will pop up where you can review the writ. At this point it doesn't tell you what is needed or how many vouchers it's worth but gives you two options, accept contract and something like cancel or do nothing can't remember as I've only done one.

At this point depending what you want to do you have 3 options, 1- accept contract and it becomes a quest like you are seeing, 2- decline and sell I e seen them sold on Xbox na between 4-7k per VOUCHER not per master writ(just for further explanation if you had a master writ worth say 10 vouchers you could potentially sell it for 40-70k usually people only sell like 50-100 voucher writs but I'm sure someone would buy at the right price), 3- decline and decide later.

For mine I decided to decline and decided later. If you choose to do this it will go into your inventory and if you go to it it should tell you every detail and how much it's worth.

Sorry I wasnt more clear earlier I was at work. Hopefully you can complete the writ now that you have accepted it though. I'm not sure you can determine how much it's worth at this point.

Edit: error I made just got my second writ this one was worth 51 vouchers trying to decide if I should do it or sell it!

Just glancing at the Master Writs by Craft chart, I'd say Provisioning and Clothing are actually higher than what I've been seeing. I've had decent luck with Blacksmithing, but over 50% of mine so far have been Woodworking.

Of course, my numbers aren't nearly high enough to be as statistically significant as yours.

Just to be clear, even without Master Writs, it is ALWAYS worth your while to do clothing, blacksmith & woodworking writs. Writs are worth well over 2000 gold a piece NET profit each from just the gold reward and tempers.
