[Morning Coffee] The Black Horse Courier - Backordered Edition

Good Morning everyone!

I trust you are all well and that you had a good, relaxing weekend.

My weekend was good - I am finding it hard to continue progressing on my current character on ESO due to the fact that I know the Warden class will be my main when Morrowind launches. So this weekend I installed Skyrim again and fired it up.

I purchased it on XBox 360 when it originally launched. One week into playing it my XBox got the red ring of death. My computer at the time was not strong enough to handle Skyrim and I thus lived my life without playing it (Although I had played Morrowind and Oblivion religiously before then in their respective eras). Last year I bought Skyrim and all the DLC's when it was on sale on Steam, and this weekend I decided it is time for me to catch up and actually play the game. So far I am having a ton of fun! I made my soon-to-be Warden, Arden LeBrante. Majority of the time he is wielding Frostbite in his left hand and a one-handed dagger/sword in the right, switching between alteration and restoration spells as needed.

I cannot wait to make my Warden when ESO: Morrowind launches. I read somewhere after the beta that it is one of the classes that got cut - and I have secretly been hoping for a nature magic based class since then. But I can't help but feel disheartened when logging on to my 'main' at the moment - as I keep thinking I want to save doing this and that for Arden so that I experience it with him. Anyone else feeling like this?

What did you get up to the weekend?

*Reclines back and sips coffee happily*

Farmed mats to sell tempers to make gold. And did a little PvP in Azura's. That's about it. Listen to some sweet tunes though while farming and hanging in Discord with some friends.

It is the only online game I find it hard to be on a voice chat with people, since I love to listen to the in-game music and follow all the dialogue and conversations I try to avoid Discord when I play ESO :D

With the right people it's pretty fun. I have the in game music off because I got bored of it after awhile and after listening to the same dialogue for nearly 3 years it does get a little old. Looking forward to Morrowind for that reason. New dialogue, new stories.

No aeropress brewed coffee right now, drinking great coffee made in a french press about 3 minutes ago, it's a cold wet rainy day out there and the planned planting of spring flowers has been cancelled.

Skyrim! When the remastered Skyrim was recently released, I excitedly bought it, rushed home and fired up the old Xbox, hooked it up to a probably too big a screen tv and after 20 minutes became nauseous, and oddly motion sick. Three years of playing TESO seem to have left an impression upon me that has made Skyrim on xBox seemingly primitive in graphics and at the present, unplayable for me for many reasons. I'll give it another run using a smaller screen, probably a monitor. The music though is still spine tingling and utterly epic.

The weekend in TESO centred around picking up many of the various achievement items I've been able to access for my ESO 'home'. Some are so small and hard to notice, but still pretty. The Observatory banner is an epic addition to the central interior lounge area of the Stros M'kai property. It was far bigger than I anticipated (it's HUGE!) so I was happy I was able to fit it somewhere. It can take some considerable time to move items around and make them look 'natural'. Another banner bought not realising the size of it is the biggest of the DC banners available, again I was surprised at the sheer size of it and which I eventually placed seaward side on the tower.

Did anyone buy the 'wedding flowers' on sale with the weekend vendor in Hollowcity? I didn't realise they actually glow at night, it surprised me when I discovered this and immediately rushed back to by 4 more. They look amazing at night.

My weekend game play consisted of mainly material foraging/harvesting, enjoyable daily crafting writs, No questing, I'm concentrating on levelling my Magika NB Folnie to four pips rank in PvP. On the subject of PvP, I took a long break, possibly a year or more from doing any PvP with her and played a variety of other characters. Like my game play in general, my PvP gaming tends to be chaotic, I play solo, don't group up, again many reasons for not doing so, (so I like to scout, defend, repair walls and siege weapons and will often be one of those crazy players to be the first off the wall to push/skirmish/repel any other faction attacking a keep we have to defend. First off the wall = sometimes of course, first to die too. Never been a ganker, though of course have been ganked many times.

I've heard bad reports about the state of the Magika NB, but it's a class I enjoy, and suits my game play style. Folnie is doing ok, but I forget sometimes the Magblade isn't the best to be used in an sustained attack against a 1v1 engagement with a DK or Templar, in heavy armour especially. I guess their job is to claim their ground, defend it and kill anyone crazy enough to attempt using a Magika NB in a sustained fight against them. Of course I know there are some amazing NBs who would have no issues with that type of fight. An experienced NB knows the builds limitations and weaknesses. I should too, but I get far too excited and invariably forget to cloak out and make good an escape, or at least put distance between the opponent and myself. Learn to play issues. I'm learning all the time.

    Have a great day all.

I understand what you're saying. Sometimes I feel like that. But other times, I enjoy listening to my guildies talk about the game, about gear, theory-crafting, etc. It's like ESO talk radio. I usually don't say much. I may just ask a question once in a while, like someone who calls into the show. But I learn a lot and it's all ESO all the time (most of the time, anyway).

@gary.mcleodeb17_ESO Ah wow, that sounds like quite a productive weekend in Tamriel! I did not know that those flowers glow, so I am going to make a point of checking them out as soon as I get home! How much do they cost?

And I understand what you mean in terms of Skyrim's gameplay - while playing this weekend I also found myself quite used to ESO's controls and gameplay and found it a bit challenging to adapt again. I do like the fact that I can have a weapon and a spell equipped at the same time (still saddened that ZOS confirmed there won't be an One Hand + Rune weapon skill tree for Morrowind) but I prefer ESO's actionbar with five spells readily available instead of having to open up a menu every single time to switch between spells.

I found the Magicka Nightblade quite a fun playstyle as well, made a 'warlock' quite some time ago who used a fire destruction staff and focussed on the Siphoning and Shadow Skill Trees.

This is true, the perfect time for me to be on Discord with friends is while PVP'ing in Cyrodiil or when I am busy decorating my house. But when it comes to quests I prefer silence so that I can absorb the dialogue and ambiance.

Whilst playing with Skyrim-Arden this weekend I couldn't help but wonder which faction to make him. I am torn between all three. Majority of my characters are Aldmeri Dominion, but I quite like the aesthetic of the other two as well. So, what Faction would you recommend purely on a lore/RP basis for a nomadic druid, alchemist and keeper of nature and balance?

@Winchester1306, apologies for the delay in a reply to your question about the wedding flowers, I forget how much they cost exactly, I seem to have the figure of 2000 gold pieces in my head for some reason. I'm happy I bought them, the glow they give off is amazing, a plant a Warden would probably know all too well. Feel free to visit my home, It's work in progress still, but if you notice it's night time, send me a message and come visit my home. I think you can buy those flowers from the crown store too.

Good question as to what faction a nomadic druid might ally themselves too. To be honest I don't think a Warden would actually do so, preferring to remain neutral, or seeing any faction and the ongoing war in Cyrodiil pointless, there are bigger threats at large to nature and the corruption of natural order. However, seeing as we have to choose a faction, I myself will select the Daggerfall Covenant. King Emeric appears tolerant (if not probably even appreciative) of the presence of the Wyrd, who to me, seem like a female version of a warden already. There is even the Wyrd Sister costume you can buy from the Crown Store, I think it looks great. The Bosmer are very nature orientated, but culturally the Green Pact may present some difficulties for those Bosmer. who follow that way. The amazing and cool Queen Ayrenn would probably be very aware of these Wardens, she is well travelled, has studied all manner of subjects." She has also some experiences with bears as I recall.

"Ha. Have you heard some of the rumors? My exploits have been greatly exaggerated, I can assure you. Except the story about the bear. That one's true." Queen Ayrenn.

I think any race could could choose to answer the call of the Warden, it's a huge area of Tamlore I know nothing about to be honest and there are many adventures, trials and tribulations awaiting the initiate.

Sorry for any typos... long day.

    Chill.

Enjoying the drunken personality on my main. Ever since that came out, it's been fun having an overpowered sorcerer that can kill most things in Tamriel with a modicum of effort and spend the rest of his time inebriated while squatting in a one room apartment and sleeping in a crate.

@gary.mcleodeb17_ESO Thank you for your input! I really appreciate it, and I also think that the Daggerfall Covenant might be best suited for my character since we are forced to choose a faction - does not mean he would have to act upon it. And I will be sure to come and check out your house at some point to see these flowers - they sound really amazing!

Ended up, laying in bed all sunday being sick... that was "awesome" :#

Though it did make it possible to play ESO because I didn't go on a hike with my family, I knew it was a good Idea to pack my laptop

I got to write on some short stories as well and a background for a potentiel warden, I'm flipping between to possibilities at the moment...

@Winchester1306 I mainly write in Danish, being my native tounge and all, but the fan fiction I write are almost exclusively in English.

When I gather my nerve, I will definitely upload something
