Cp points for vMA

How many cp are recommended for vMA, whats the minimum to stand a chance.

Im at cp170 gave it a shot got to the 4th round but man its not easy i have to be constantly popping vigor. i get 2 hit by mobs, im assuming its my cp because my gear isnt to bad.

5viper ( divines. thinking of changing been told not the best for PvE)
5 spriggan(divines, axe and mace traits suck... im working on it)
2 veledreth( again traits meh ...infused, hardley made it through CoS sooooo im just sticking with infused for now)

Stam sorc with meta Pve build DW /bow.

Defense tree all into Ele defender and hardy. Split evenly.

Green tree. Max reduce cost and then recovery.

Blue tree I go all into mighty and then there try and get a fair amount into therm. Most of your attacks are dots.

Hey matey,

You're gear is fine - apart from weapons as they need to be sharpen to max DPS but as you said you're working on it.
I'm also assuming the weapons aren't gold which makes again a huge difference.

However there are little tricks that will help you greatly.

Apart from knowing spawns which comes with time, every single time the (LAST) wave of that round spawns hit the defensive sigil to mitigate all damage (MOST). During the original waves of that round also utilities the Healing Sigil which should get you through the trash.

In fairness, with that CP I would go as DRX advised which I agree with fully.
Apart from the reduce cost - I would go into all recovery and use recovery food if you have issues with regen.

Max/Regen will also help two folds, but seeing as you haven't mentioned regen issues we will assume you're not having that issue.

Its not a bad idea to redistribute majority CPs from hardy to elemental defender or vise versa if need be. The last arena deals a lot of magic damage, so elemental helped out a lot.

I finished vMA over an entire weekend of bashing my head against the wall.

CP274, khajit stamina nightblade, 5 NMG body, 5 Viper body/jewel, 2 sharp leki dagger, all medium divine gold except purple jewel (all phys dmg enchant). Honestly your gear looks ok

Considering stamina nightblade is probably one of the hardest classes to do vMA on, my go-to answer for any variation of your question is CP250

While memorizing spawn points and getting used to the tempo of each stage has permanently secured me high up in the leaderboard for all classes, I'd honestly say this was none existent in my first 10 clears, so I wouldn't worry too much about this.

CP is not that of an issue. Round 4 is a dps race. Put all red points in magic resistance. On a boss fight take damage sigil and just dps boss. When his lightning stage finishes just kite everything applying ranged dots and when boss come back to lightning stage just take defense sigil and finish boss.

I've seen videos where people clear the thing flawless under 200 CP... but thats someone reaaaaallly familiar with the content.

I went in at 220, and got to the spider- got frustrated after HOURS and just left it. Went back in at CP 350 and still struggled but ultimately cleared it. Looking back, if I had just committed to it I probably could have cleared it that first time - it wasn't much much easier at 350.

Success in VMA is mostly predicated on experience with it rather than cp or gear. Having really high DPS can make it exponentially easier, or having really high sustain/ survivability can make it easier. But really it's mostly about learning every stage, every round so you know where to be, where not to be, and what to prioritize. Alot of the stages can be boiled down to just choreographed sequences - once you get the fights down, you can clear it at almost any vet level I'd imagine.
