Weird Bug? Picking up carrots = Decorative Wax

Well I know that picking up from boxes/sacks/containers in general gives you Decorative Wax but during my journeys I was picking up carrots off a table in Shors Mine (The Rift) and it gave me Decorative Wax. Is this normal?
