Adding storage for houses?

Houses are great but aside from being aesthetic they don't serve much of a purpose. Wouldn't updating the trunks and containers to actually hold items give houses a better use? and it might encourage people to buy houses through the crown store which would help them too. It's a win - win thing here. Why hasn't it been done? I got a house but there's nothing to do with it.

Did we really need another thread about housing storage?

Please, no. Make it stop. Not another thread begging for house storage.

No. No we don't. I want storage, but seriously let the last thread die before making another.

Don't throw the term "begging". It was a simple question. and if you don't have a proper response move to another discussion. Besides, I haven't seen many threads about house storage.

Even just having them spawn random low-value stuff would make our containers seem more "real." They could be on a long respawn timer so that folks wouldn't be tempted to create in-home farming routes, but interactive containers would make homes see more alive.

The answer is and ZoS has said this before now - housing storage just did not make the first cut and is on the list of stuff they want to do.

Currently in game there are nultiple ways to increase storage:
Static cost gains thru gold or crowns from horses.
Escalating costs in gold or flat costs in crowns for backpack.
Escalating costs in gold or flat costs in crowns for bank.
Eight free characters and up to four additional.

The max possible for a single account is like 2640 slots.
But by the time you are spending crowns on the higher levels, you might be better off with second copy of game for 8 more characters and second bank.

With all those options in game, its no surprise storage did not make day one release priority over other things they did include.

But keep in mind it wont be something to shut down and overshadow all the other ones so it likely wont be what some expect.

One poster wanted 2500 items in one crafted crate?

But consider that even if they had a crate you could craft to store 20 items as a single furnishing, then a small home plus crates would blow past all the other storage in a flash with hundreds of crates able to be put in a house.

I hope for things that will make my inventory better even inf they dont increase storage. at 2600+ i dont need "more storage" but "more useful storage."

Armor rack to "store" a full load out of 14pc plus 8 stacks of consumables would be fantastic even if it tied up my existing slots.

yes, everyone, but literally everyone knows this, and I agree with you of course.

too sad ZOS does not know or does not want to know this

Thank you for actually answering properly. And what you said does make sense, it's just a shame it isn't a thing.

hey an informal question about storage... again hoping they give us "better storage" or "better inventory" not just more..

Stepping away from the manequin/armor-rack thing...

Say ZoS lets you build a crate which can store 10 items just like "bank" slots - anything you cannot bank you cannot put in here either.

Would you want these crates accessible to (view content, add items, take items) by your visitors? by your decorators?

Currently nobody can add/subtract from anyone else's homes.

However they can use the interactive features - including banker and merchant.

Since a storage crate would be interactive to view, add and remove it fits a gray area.

Would there be a desire to have the contents of these crates be interactive with others? or perhaps for a certain type of crate?

    Unsecure crates = green.
    Secure crates = blue
    configurable crates = purple

    or vice-versa.

Well I have the Hundings Palatial Hall completely furnished, grounds all set up nicely. Installed all the standard crafting stations and dye station. Have two test dummies, one regular and one robust. There's plenty of space for duels, RP, meetings, etc., although ZOS limits the number of characters to 12 at a time. I offered use of the place to my guild, but no one is interested. Now that I have it all set up, the place is beautiful but pointless, lifeless.

If anyone is interested in seeing it and using what it has to offer, please do. I have it set to allow visitors whether or not I'm there or online. Find my @Wolfenbelle name in the game, then go to my primary residence. All are welcome.
