Leaving a Free Inn Room

I am finding it impossible to leave the free Inn rooms except by teleporting to a wayshrine or another house.

If I try to leave by the door, all I get a loading screen that lasts for, quite literally, 15 minutes or more (or until I get fed up and quit the game). I can go away, do chores, eat lunch, read a novel, and come back and the damn thing is still stuck on a loading screen. I've only actually been able to exit the room in this manner just once. Every other time I've been forced to quit the game, re-launch it, and then leave the room by teleporting to my main house.

Is this a bug and can it be fixed? Really, you ought to be able to walk out through the door of these rooms!

Some people have this, not sure if it's related to the zone population (as your really rezoning when leaving that room).

I did not have this issue, but I did the free room about a week after the content came out, so it was not as crowded in the inn. Others on the PC reported this. So, it will probably be better once the hub bub settles down. In the meantime, just port out of the room.

None of the other houses seem to have this issue, but they are probably not as crowded.

Bad enough when it was happening with the free inn rooms, but now it's happening with my main home at Twin Arches as well. WTF??? A loading screen that lasts HALF AN HOUR is not acceptable. I thought they were going to fix this.

I was not able to leave ANY of my homes tonight without paying out gold to use a Wayshrine. Otherwise all I got was loading screens, and I am not exaggerating that they never end. I might be able to get out eventually, or might not, but at the ten minute mark I lose patience and quit the game. This happened to me no matter where I teleported: Twin Arches or the Sleek Creek house, the only ones I own outside of the free rooms. I knew that the free rooms were bugged and impossible to escape, but it's intolerable that I home I paid actual money for is bugged so that I can't ever leave it.

PLEASE FIX THIS, this is not a LITTLE deal anymore, this is a BIG deal.

Yep, same thing happens to me. Cannot walk out the door of any of my houses. Infinite loading screen. Only way out is to force-quit the game, log back in, and then pay the 146g to port somewhere.

I know this doesn't solve your issue with the load screens, but if you port to a guild member it's free. Open the guild roster -> find someone in the region you want to go -> right click -> port to player.

I have this issue as well only I can't even teleport out. I have had to contact support on two different occasions (the only times in which I have used the room because of being worried about getting stuck) so they could remove my character themselves which usually didn't happen til about two days after i filed the report. It's so good to see that today's patch "largely contains a number of fixes for unreleased and future content that is not yet available" instead of resolving issues currently in the game.

The same steps should work with a group mate, if you can get someone to group with you you should be able to travel to them.

I also have this bug... have had it since homestead launched.

I have been jumping to my guild house then walking out the door.

That house is in the same zone.

Seriously though they really need to fix this.

WhiteCoat, I play solo. No grouping, no guilds, no friends.

I can't even figure out the mess that is the chat box, and frankly when I see what people are typing in there it doesn't make me want to figure it out. Ninety percent of it is gibberish.

So, when I'm stuck, I'm stuck, period.

It needs to be fixed.

Again today -- could not leave the apartment in Mournhold.

I don;t even go near the free inn rooms I have anymore because I know leaving them will be impossible.

This bug is starting to become seriously annoying!

Is there any sign or hint they might actually fix this or should we all just give up on having housing? What is the point in homes we can't escape from ?
