Assistants in Homes

Ok, I own a banker, merchant and smuggler assistant. I understand smuggler others only can use, if quests complete. The merchant and banker only in a group. But when place in house should they not be accessible but any visitor?

Who have issues with assistants in homes (few visitor not able to use at all)? Why the banker and merchant not open to all visitors?

Any players you allow in your homes can use the Assistants you have there. Obviously you have to be there if it's not your primary residence.

Well one of my visitors says can not interact , but rest of us can (all those that own one). So looking to find reason why one person unable to use too.

So far I think its a bug for some. Anyone with an issue please like us know.

Does that visitor have different permissions? Not part of your Guild? Not on your Friends List?

Anything about them that is different than the other players in this regard is what I am getting at.

Note, any changes may require them to relog to get the new permission. For sure they would have to leave the house then come back.

I've had that happen out in the field so to speak. Been in groups in dungeons and had people not being able to use. It must just be a bug that crops up from time to time.

As they're new to ESO I suggest checking what they mean when they say they can't use the assistant. Do they mean that nothing at all happens when they speak to them? Or are they trying to do things that these NPCs do not do, but every single other one with the same name does - for example are they trying to buy something from the merchant, or use the banker to access the guild bank/store?

New players and those who don't visit the forum often are still running into the problem that the Assistants names and descriptions makes them sound like they are identical to the ones out in the world, not a special case with very restricted functionality.

For what it's worth I visited a guild mates house when he wasn't there (he'd given permission to the whole guild) and I was able to use his banker and merchant even though I don't own either of them. So they definitely can be used by other people, but it sounds like there might be some bugs in the system.

this is good info, much of which I did not know about the prim residence. I don't want to start another thread, but what about the crafting stations, so of my guild can access them all and even those with full craft max cant access some of them. I took a level player (one of my dummy banks) and let him try to use them, I think he could only access 3 of the 7

a glitch, or prob don't understand the rules

    tks

I have all three assistants in my home. The smuggler only seems to work for visitors that have earned the achievement. Banker and merchant seem to work for everyone.

Ok we found the issue. It the npcs themselves moving a bit with their actions. Needed to moved them more from objects as they move arms and body around to close to another object they stop working until they move again.

Some objects near assistants and crafting stations make them stop working while some you can place on them without issue.
