    4. Flickering grass (a new one this morning)

Do you use an AMD video card and just upgraded to 17.2.1? If so that is your problem, not ESO. Something is wacky with those drivers - grass in ESO starts flickering with those drivers installed.

If this is you, then uninstall and down grade to the previous drivers till this gets fixed - I'm using 17.1.2 (the previous drivers) without a problem. Me & plenty of others I know, and have read, have issues with flickering grass in ESO with 17.2.1 drivers.

    - My internet connection is the fastest one in California and all of my speed tests show a really strong and healthy line

I use Comcast in California and I experience almost none of your problems. I see latency spikes once every few hours but it has no effect on my gameplay (never lost progress). I get disconnected for no reason once or twice a week, probably Comcast. The "black player models and delayed NPC's" is simply a product of too many people in the zone and the game trying to render players before NPC's. Not really a big deal, you just have to wait 30 seconds until everything loads.

Don't know what to tell you brah other than chill out.

I am sick to the back teeth of the following problems, which in combination are making this game finally and truly unplayable. It's not like there haven't been serious problems before, and your customer service is appalling and never solves any of them anyway, but right now:-

    1. Latency spikes regularly hit 4000+
    2. Even when latency is showing low-ish (for this game, not by a global standard), say around 100ms, there are STILL the classic instances of invisible enemies killing me, or being teleported back to an earlier part of the dungeon
    3. Regular disconnections (10 or so in a 3 hour play session)
    4. Flickering grass (a new one this morning)
    5. After login, having to wait 2 mins for the bankers to appear and other players to not be black outlines.

These are not limited to cities anymore, either. I was the only player in a Delve in Coldharbour at 1am this morning and all of the above (apart from the grass) was bothering me. I wanted to play on but there was really no point.

If you don't fix this, I am going to send you back my game and demand a refund, then just play something else. Really, I have never come across such severe problems with a computer game.

    Some tips:-

    - Do NOT try to fob me off. I am a seasoned consumer advocate.
    - There is nothing wrong with my setup. It works fine on other games and applications. I hit the upper end of spec requirements
    - My internet connection is the fastest one in California and all of my speed tests show a really strong and healthy line

How do you see 4000+ latency spikes when the /latency meter only goes up to 999+?

Dude im on the other side of the world and I dont get these issues.. 300ping on average.

Id be checking your router first and foremost - and secondly having the 'fastest' speed in cali... is that advertised speed or actual throughput. ISP's dont give you a uncontended link speed you know..

Networking 101. If you have 24 subscribers on an edge switch at gigE and your backhaul trunk is 10gb OM3.. if everyone maxes their link out thats actually only about 40% of your potential gigE link. Plus theres other factors involved.. OSPF Routing etc..

Another thing id be checking.. have you got an Xbox One? The XB1 network streaming to the xbox app in windows 10 causes huge performance issues even if u arent using it. The service itself just causes framerates to drop alamingly.. even up to half capacity..

Wouldn't it be nice if they utilized AWS so that you could have better service in Australia?

If they used UPS, you could get overnight shipping!

Addons can get the actual number, even if the UI stops at 999.

This surprises me considerably, given that the way you describe your game experience suggests your internet connection has a lot in common with a string and two Progresso soup cans. Just about everything that you describe, like the latency spikes, the rollbacks, disconnections, and waiting for players to appear, just screams of a bad connection to the server.

Your issue is not global. It is rare I see a disconnect, certainly not daily and probably not even more than one in a wek. Same with the other issues. I play with a lot of people and granted, an occasional invisible orb or something, but nothing beyond that.

So your seasoned consumer advocacy may want to open a tech support ticket and maybe look at your hardware as well. Most other games are designed to run on potatoes compared to ESO.

I wouldn't bother to open a support ticket. From the forum's lately, they don't seem to be answered.

If I was the OP I would open up command prompt and do a tracert to ESO cluster. See where the hold up is.
