Need help with master writ completion.

Traits are: increase armor
Protection
Defile
What plats do I combo?

Try combinations of beetle scuttle, mudcrab chitin, and emetic russula/nightshade.

You can look up what the ingredients do online, there are plenty of sites that have the info.

I only started these last night and you need to make sure you use the correct 'liquid' - if the writ reads "Essence" potion, then you use the top level water (Larkhams Tears), if it says level IX poison, then you need the top level poison liquid (Alkahest).

There's some confusion about crafting potions with Homestead, as zos seems to have made an unpublished change to traits.

Try this to see old vs new traits:

Lower Spell Resistance -> Breach
Increase Physical Resistance -> Increase Armor
Lower Physical Resistance -> Fracture
Lower Weapon Power -> Maim
Lower Weapon Crit -> Enervation
Lower Spell Power -> Cowardice
Lower Spell Crit -> Uncertainty
Sustained Restore Health -> Lingering Health
Creeping Ravage Health -> Gradual Ravage Health
Reduce Speed -> Hindrance
Stun -> Entrapment

Did you try to make it to see if the game updates? Maim is lower weapon damage and has nothing to do with Armor. Fracture is the effect that reduces armor.

This is the only potion/poison with Armor in the name. If the game does not accept it, then /Bug it

It's worse than that.

I had a writ that I just couldn't get the right solution for - I put together the ingredients that should have worked, but the traits listed didn't work out and the name was wrong. I couldn't think of anything else to try so I made some... and got the message I'd just created the first 4 out of 20.

The good news is that the right combination worked. The bad news is that the traits and the name were wrong!

Have you tried Lorkhans tears -> Mudcrab -> Beetle Scuttle -> Nightshade? Try combinations of these.

I have only gotten a very few alchemy master writs. What worked for me is to use the name of the potion/poison to make sure that I am crafting the correct solution strength and type (poison vs potion and level strength).

I then focus on the required traits. If you mouse over the traits for each ingredient while in the alchemy crafting window, those traits match up with the name given in the master writ. I use those to compile the correct ingredients for the potion/poison.

I am not certain that the actual name of the potion must match exactly as long as the type, strength and effects match.

Use Lorkhan's Tears + Mudcrab Chitin + Nightshade + either Imp Stool or Mountain Flower (either of those last two will work)

P.S. The problem with the Beetle Scuttle is it has Vitality which counteracts the Defile.

I use an addon that let's you specify what effects you want and/or don't want. Takes 15sec, always get the right list of ingredients. Potionmaker or something like that. Even if you're a consolite, you can get a pc account for dirt cheap and just log it in to tell you.

You mean that they changed some of the traits on the reagents? They call out the most minor of things in their patch notes, but they couldn't be bothered to call out a change to alchemy traits (if this is the case).

They never bothered to call out when they changed the names of some of the effects, either.
