World of Tanks streamer Brian “Poshybrid” Vigneault died from unknown causes on February 19 after streaming for 22 hours. He was 35 and a father of three.

Vigneault was streaming to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Vigneault would spend multiple days in the same week streaming for upward of 20 hours. The charity stream was the culmination of one of those weeks

You guys and gals be careful. I'd rather you stream 3-4 hours at a time with breaks, and continue to be with us, then a tragedy likes this happen to any of you...or anyone for that matter. You folks are great entertainers,great people, and I want you to be with us for many years to come! Take care! Take care of yourselves, and game on!

(To clarify, sitting in chairs or in places for long periods of time can develop little blood clots or cause you to have an aneurysm that could be fatal, or even cause you to have a stroke, and you don't have to be old for this to happen)....a friend of mine in high school the typical exercise jock died of a massive heart attack at 19 years old, you just never know. so please becareful, get up every two hours and walk a lap around your house or something, just get those legs moving every now and then.

I... almost never stream anymore. Making videos fits better into the "when I can" lifestyle Though thank you for the concern. Everyone needs to take it upon themselves to ensure they do whatever they do in life - safely.

Not just people streaming. Remember a story about a Japanese gamer being found dead in an internet cafe or the likes, after gaming for 3 days.

There is no way playing for 22 hours is what killed him.

He probably played so much that whatever killed him was bound to occur while playing however.

His lifestyle leading up to his passing may have had an impact, but if doing something that requires sitting for 22 hours was deadly, every truck driver would be dead.

If anything it goes to show, excercise, proper diet, and not being a streamer are all good life goals.

I don't think he passed away because of playing too much. I never heard anyone doing that. Anyways, sad.

WHAT YOU CAN DIE OF, is playing for 22h and drinking energy drinks every 5 minutes. Stop drinking monster and redbull just so you can stay up and play longer.

Actually it can cause death due to like the OP said blood clots forming.

Going to your truck driver comment they are only legally allowed to drive for I believe 10 hours at a time I believe. I tmight have been changed, but for every 10 hours drive time they have to have I think like 8 hours of sleep logged as well. Sure some I'm sure run multiple logs, or lie in them, but if they are caught you are talking major fines.

I think this topic is an important lesson for all gamers in general, not just the streamers. Gaming as a hobby is alot of fun, but has the potential to become unhealthy, both for your body and mind.

Great sentiment behind this post. I do not stream; have thought about it but to those who do. Always be conscious of your own health bar and not just your in game character.

As for myself I appreciate all of the personalities and highly appreciate all the in-game analysis you guys and gals give.

I know a guy who has done a 32-hour stream since he was speed running 3 RPGs back-to-back. He drinks water regularly through his stream and has time for food breaks. He does a lot of physical preparation by jogging and staying physically and mentally fit for something like that.

There is more to the story then they are letting on OP. It can be done, but the right choices and right state of mind are big determining factors as to whether or not it should be done. Even if at all honestly...

Don't want to be that aggressive kid from the forums, but truck drivers are not allowed to drive for more four and a half hours non stop and then you have to take 1.5 hours rest from the wheel. Reccomended is to drive for 90 minutes and rest for 15 minutes. Maximum driving time for 1 day is 8 hours. There is a device in the wheel that monitors it and if someone doesn't comply - very big fines by traffic police.

I drove couple of times through Europe with 30 hours non stop driving (only to eat and toilet) and it was quite difficult. One has to appreciate that people die from heartattacka under various circumstances. Some football players dyeing on the field from heartattck is a serious example.

Yikes, that is so sad. My heart goes out to that poor family. I can't imagine how devastated they must be.

Unfortunately sitting for long periods of time affects more than just gamers. Office workers have it bad. My old job I was also sitting for 8 hours a day. Getting up every couple hours or so and do a quick stretch and walk around does wonders.
