From World Of Warcraft. I've played WoW ever since its release in 2004 and while I have had good times during the years, It slowly but gradually has begun to feel like a job or a chore. Paying $15.00 a month isn't really that much in the grand scheme but paying it I feel obligated to play or like I have to play. I've recently started playing ESO about three weeks ago and the graphics are awesome, the combat is different, and.......... wait for it........... no monthly fee! I feel I can play as I see fit without feeling obligated to play. Now I know ESO has an ESO Plus that's $15.00 a month or something like that but it's not really required. The moment I last logged into WoW and it said you can't play cause your game license has expired..... really Blizzard? I made the switch and I wish I had done so sooner.

Your going to want to pay the 15 dollars for the crafting bag alone.

Interesting. The more I see of F2P and B2p in action, the more I love the sub model.

I feel the same way, except I never actually played WoW (I didn't like the lore changes they made with Warcraft 3). I played other sub games and I always felt pressured to play because I was paying for the time.

And in spite of what people here are saying plenty of people play ESO for years without subscribing. I've had the game for just over 2 years and I've subbed for a grand total of 30 days.

But that's the other thing, it doesn't have to be an all or nothing decision. You could subscribe occasionally (maybe when you know you've got a lot of time) and then stop it when you don't feel like it. A lot of the benefits carry over in some way - for example the crafting material bag (which seems to be the most popular benefit at the moment) will still hold all the materials you put in there, and you'll still be able to use them, you just can't put new ones in.

Soon or later, playing as unsubscriber, this game will become an awful pain in the back since you don't have access to a base game feature, such as the Craft Bag

Ssssh, guys, don't scare them off. We want to ease them into realizing ESO+ is the objectively superior choice. ;)

But really, welcome! My favorite thing about ESO is that you really can take it at your own pace, whatever that entails.

    My Girls:
"If you were trapped in your house for, say, a year, how would you pass the time?"

Nephikah the Houseless, dunmer assassin: "I suppose I could use the break. I have a lot of business holdings now that need management."
Swum-Many-Waters, elderly argonian healer: "I think that I would enjoy writing a memoir."
Silh'ki, khajiit warrior-chef: "Would this one be able to go outside, to the nearby river? It's hard to fish without water!"
Peregrine Huntress, bosmer hunter: "Who is forcing me to stay inside, and where can I find them?"
Lorenyawe, altmer mechanist: "And why would I want to go outside in the first place? Too much to be done in the workshop."
Lorelai Magpie, breton master thief: "I'd go nuts. Lucky for me, I have a little experience sneaking out!"
Rasheda the Burning Heart, redguard knight: "I would continue my training to keep my skills sharp."
Hex-Eye Azabi, khajiit daedric priestess: "I suppose it would be lucky, then, that I built a shrine to Mephala in my backyard."
Yngva Stormhammer, nord bandit (reformed...ish): "I hate being inside even when I'm not forced to be. GET. ME. OUT."
Madam Argentia, vampire dunmer aristocrat: "I suppose it would be more of the same. I have a rather... contentious relationship with the sun."
Mazie gra-Bolga, orc scout: "Uh... I'd have to house train my bear..."
Felicia the Wanderer, imperial witch-for-hire: "What Lorelai said."
Calico Jaka-dra, retired khajiit pirate: "This one would like a rest from her grand adventures. Her jewel shop runs out of stock!"
Shimmerbeam, blind altmer psijic: "Provided that I am confined to Artaeum, I do not think I will want for things to occupy my time."
Shauna Blackfire, redguard necromancer: "Sounds like paradise. I hate people."
Kirniel the Undying, cursed bosmer warrior: "I would feel useless, not being able to fight."
Echoes-from-Dragons, argonian who thinks she's a dragon: "All the better to count my hoard!"

The crafting bag is so worth it. I can farm for hours without ever needing to stop by a bank.

It's also very nice to opt out of the subscription :)

You're exaggerating. I dropped my sub immediately after the B2P transition and yes, inventory management has been annoying, but manageable. I agree that the crafting bag makes the whole experience much, much smoother, but it's not true that you can't play without it. And even if you decide that the craft bag is too good to pass up, it's as Danikat said: not an all-or-nothing decision. You can stop subbing during slower months, saving money.

Yes, if you want to ignore crafting materials all the way, craft bag is not necessary.

Ah, crafting and crafting materials are a huge slice of the game.

Thats why I think craft bags on sub only was the stupidest idea ever. But in general you can still play without it, it just much more annoying

From a business standpoint it's a great idea - lots of people are willing to keep on paying $15 a month just for access to the crafting bag. It almost certainly adds up to far more than anyone would pay in a straight-forward sale.

    You are wrong.

    PC/Mac Patch Notes v2.4.5
The base game patch also features an abundance of new features including Poison-Making as an extension of the Alchemy system, improvements to item set Traits, more enhancements to the Grouping Tool, nameplates, item locking, an extended crafting inventory (Craft Bag) for ESO Plus members, and more. And, of course, the highly anticipated removal of Veteran Ranks.

Yes, but crafting is still a huge part of the game. Crafting materials prices drive the economy and if you want to completely ignore the crafting stuff, well, maybe, at this point not playing at all is a better choice.
