Can anyone help. Our guild wants to purchase a manor owned and operated by guild and guild mates is that possible.

I ask as if a player purchased it for the guild eg temporary guild master and then fell our of flavor and left the guild they take the house with them.

So to avoid that I ask is it possible for a guild to purchase the house

I appreciate all replies even though the answer is straight forward but I want the guild to own it

Thanks in advance

Currently not possible. The person who buys the house should be the person you trust to never, ever leave.

    Nope. Would be nice, though.

Houses are account-owned, so no, there is no way to attach it to a guild.

The only way I can think to do this is for there to be a guild-wide house-owner alt account that multiple people know the password for. But that would require someone buying another account and managing the emails, etc. for it, so there's still an aspect of single ownwership after paying box price.

    My Girls:
"If you were trapped in your house for, say, a year, how would you pass the time?"

Nephikah the Houseless, dunmer assassin: "I suppose I could use the break. I have a lot of business holdings now that need management."
Swum-Many-Waters, elderly argonian healer: "I think that I would enjoy writing a memoir."
Silh'ki, khajiit warrior-chef: "Would this one be able to go outside, to the nearby river? It's hard to fish without water!"
Peregrine Huntress, bosmer hunter: "Who is forcing me to stay inside, and where can I find them?"
Lorenyawe, altmer mechanist: "And why would I want to go outside in the first place? Too much to be done in the workshop."
Lorelai Magpie, breton master thief: "I'd go nuts. Lucky for me, I have a little experience sneaking out!"
Rasheda the Burning Heart, redguard knight: "I would continue my training to keep my skills sharp."
Hex-Eye Azabi, khajiit daedric priestess: "I suppose it would be lucky, then, that I built a shrine to Mephala in my backyard."
Yngva Stormhammer, nord bandit (reformed...ish): "I hate being inside even when I'm not forced to be. GET. ME. OUT."
Madam Argentia, vampire dunmer aristocrat: "I suppose it would be more of the same. I have a rather... contentious relationship with the sun."
Mazie gra-Bolga, orc scout: "Uh... I'd have to house train my bear..."
Felicia the Wanderer, imperial witch-for-hire: "What Lorelai said."
Calico Jaka-dra, retired khajiit pirate: "This one would like a rest from her grand adventures. Her jewel shop runs out of stock!"
Shimmerbeam, blind altmer psijic: "Provided that I am confined to Artaeum, I do not think I will want for things to occupy my time."
Shauna Blackfire, redguard necromancer: "Sounds like paradise. I hate people."
Kirniel the Undying, cursed bosmer warrior: "I would feel useless, not being able to fight."
Echoes-from-Dragons, argonian who thinks she's a dragon: "All the better to count my hoard!"

I agree I don't like the system as it is now for purchasing homes for a guild. One person has to buy the house and they a) get credit for the purchase (if you care about achievements) and more importantly b) they completely control it. They can decide who can visit and who can't and at any time they can deny access to everyone.

And it's not all great for the person buying it, either. They can only have one primary residence which allows you to give permission for people to enter the house when you aren't online. If you buy the guild house, you have to keep that as your primary and can't have a second primary you may want to use as your personal house with a spouse or friend.

And since you are the only one who can place furnishings, you'd spend all your time having guildmates wanting to give you stuff to decorate the house with. So yeah, not the greatest set up for guild housing. I wonder what a solution would be, though? Make the guild itself an entity which can purchase a home and then have furnishing/access rights set as any other permissions according to guild rank? Decorating is such a personal thing, though...I can definitely see the potential for fights over furnishing choices! lol

I doubt ZOS will do anything about this, so it's pretty moot, but I'm glad you brought up the discussion, TC...maybe they'll think of a guild housing system to augment Homestead. Fingers crossed!

Guild strongholds should be given priority before player personal housings, because it's mmo and it should encourage to group people together not separate them in multiple instanced personal homesteads.

Even better would be to discourage large numbers of people from gathering in private instances altogether. When guild halls are introduced in other MMOs it kills the cities and gives new players the impression that the world is empty and so the game must be dead - whereas the reality is that the game is very much alive but everyone is stuck in their own little instance doing all the crafting, banking, and other activities that should be done in cities. I hope they aren't introduced here. Meanwhile, however, people are confusing personal housing with guild halls and don't understand why a personal house can't hold 500 people  !

    Here's how it should work

For a close group of -12 ....they could share one persons house and use it collectively by user not guild

    For PvP groups....same for 24

Guilds are by design, not a good idea for housing other than giving ppl access to visit if you're offline......pooling resources for anything, should only happen with a very close group of friends

Believe it or not, some guilds are actually composed of people who like and trust each other.

    This

If I played the market more than some of our other members we'd have had one already, but we will get one soon. I have been planning the layout on photoshop in the mean time

So OP while in effect the guild will not own it, it's certainly very possible to have a "base of opperation" / guild hall.

I personally think the Craglorn cave will be a nice addition for it or even the Pirate island...

Here's to hoping they release a ship house in the future for guild halls / homes!
