Fishing Troubles
I was in Shadowfen, working on my fishing achievement. Everything was going on great, however, there was one snag. This dang coelacanth fish. Oh, my god.
After 357 casts, 4 rare furniture items fished up, 13 Pricklefish, 7 Eel-Goby, and 1 Toxic Xoach, I finally got mys stinking coelecanth fish.
Is this normal? Having to cast so much?

You'll never get Master Angler if you find this too much PITA. I had several fish that took up to and ovet a 1000 casts to catch. RNG can be kind but also cruel. Oh, I have no problem fishing. I'm actually farming the roe's that come from cleaning. Saving them for when the new expansion drops. Because money.

Yep, my angler loves the new sea-themed furniture items. Her kitchen table is a giant sea sponge.
It's all RNG. Really, the best thing is not to keep count of casts or bait (except to know when you need to restock).
I usually turn on Netflix or something while I fish... you can easily see the bites out of the corner of your eye if you fish in first person.

Bartdude✭✭✭Yeah I spent over 2hrs the other day trying to catch a Viperfish in Greenshade. Its a rare fish caught in foul water, got to the point that I was thinking either I'm really unlucky, the RNG is shite or it's a bug!
After I finally got the fish I moved onto Grahtwood, came to a pond and caught all 3 rare fish in minutes! Still on the upside after cleaning the fish I caught I walked away with 8 Perfect Roe

There's also the Votan's Fisherman addon which makes a big fishhook icon flash across your screen when it's time to reel it in; even easier to see when watching Netflix.

I'm finding the exact same problem with this fish!!!!!!! It's the last one i need for the whole EP section.
Have so far had around 300-400 casts just at dirty water....... used different types of bait, crawlers and roe and even different times of day. My next option is go try and bring a guild member in.
But i'm the same, in it for the roe.... grind is expected, I watch movies / tv shows while i fish! 0 -

✭✭✭Some fishes took me days to get I would be stuck on the blue one forever 600+ baits used hours on hours waiting then bam it would drop and I would be so happy. Some zones you fly right through like in EP forgot the zone but got all foul fishes from one hole. RNG is this game is terrible just keep with it my fishing buddy and keep telling urself it's going to drop eventually.Edited by FloppyTouch on February 22, 2017 7:41AM0 -

Guild mate finally ended up sending me those drinks that give you a little extra chance of finding a rare fish. And I got my fish... right before I was going to pull my hair out. =P0
