Note: - First 4k upload, i don't have a 4k monitor myself so Ive no idea how it looks in that regards.

Greetings fellow Tamriel wanderers,

So i created a video recently showing what i have done with the Ebonheart chateau, I finished this a little while ago, just never got round to creating a video of it, wasn't sure if it was something people would like to see or not but i thought id try anyways.

I love systems like this where you can get really creative and do exactly what you want.

The house isnt Lore or Race specific, i created it purely with items i liked the look of instead.

The dungeon is probably what i spent most time on and like how it turned out.

A few small quirks i have with the housing update:

The update itself

The housing is definitely a great edition and a basis for Zenimax to work and improve from, But having said that i would like to see more interactive items such as being able to place doors that function when used and can be left in an open or closed state. Perhaps introducing some way of being able to craft wall designs to section off parts of the house how you see fit and be unique.

Item limit

The item limit, while i understand why it is only 700 (350+350 Sub and most likely server load complications) It could do with being larger to allow more expanse and freedom. Doing my basement alone used a large chunk of the limit, so i had to skimp on the rest of the house and even delete some things i had created and was proud of just so i could fill it and not make it look so baron and empty. :(

Another example, Lets say you buy/craft counter tops, bookshelves etc. You want to be able to fill the insides of these items with books, scrolls, plates, cups etc etc. But in reality you'd hit the item limit far too quickly trying to make a house that actually looks lived in.

I ended up even blocking off the outside buildings simply because i didn't have the item limit to create them with the detail that i wanted to, and settled for making them look more abandoned.

Perhaps this is my own fault, trying to over-do or be too artistic with things using too many items. But its a shame the freedom of creating is limited in this way.

My friend, who's house isn't nearly as filled said also they could feel that although they hadn't done much the limit seemed to be filling up rather too quickly.

Anyways that's just my small thoughts on the update, hope you liked the video =)

- Derp.

    "...oh."

I like the creative item combinations you found... things like putting tables together to create one big table with a neat tabletop design and the awning indoors to shield the... erm... butcher shop.
    Living vicariously through my characters.

    My Girls:
"If you were trapped in your house for, say, a year, how would you pass the time?"

Nephikah the Houseless, dunmer assassin: "I suppose I could use the break. I have a lot of business holdings now that need management."
Swum-Many-Waters, elderly argonian healer: "I think that I would enjoy writing a memoir."
Silh'ki, khajiit warrior-chef: "Would this one be able to go outside, to the nearby river? It's hard to fish without water!"
Peregrine Huntress, bosmer hunter: "Who is forcing me to stay inside, and where can I find them?"
Lorenyawe, altmer mechanist: "And why would I want to go outside in the first place? Too much to be done in the workshop."
Lorelai Magpie, breton master thief: "I'd go nuts. Lucky for me, I have a little experience sneaking out!"
Rasheda the Burning Heart, redguard knight: "I would continue my training to keep my skills sharp."
Hex-Eye Azabi, khajiit daedric priestess: "I suppose it would be lucky, then, that I built a shrine to Mephala in my backyard."
Yngva Stormhammer, nord bandit (reformed...ish): "I hate being inside even when I'm not forced to be. GET. ME. OUT."
Madam Argentia, vampire dunmer aristocrat: "I suppose it would be more of the same. I have a rather... contentious relationship with the sun."
Mazie gra-Bolga, orc scout: "Uh... I'd have to house train my bear..."
Felicia the Wanderer, imperial witch-for-hire: "What Lorelai said."
Calico Jaka-dra, retired khajiit pirate: "This one would like a rest from her grand adventures. Her jewel shop runs out of stock!"
Shimmerbeam, blind altmer psijic: "Provided that I am confined to Artaeum, I do not think I will want for things to occupy my time."
Shauna Blackfire, redguard necromancer: "Sounds like paradise. I hate people."
Kirniel the Undying, cursed bosmer warrior: "I would feel useless, not being able to fight."
Echoes-from-Dragons, argonian who thinks she's a dragon: "All the better to count my hoard!"

Thx, i created it using 2 different items,

The base item is called "Redguard counter, grill" Its in the crown store, although craftable too Im guessing.

I then used "Rough Block, Dark Stone" around the outside of it, basically clipping the counter top inside of these blocks but still exposing one side of it. These are also in the crown store, but can be purchased in-game from the Cyrodiil basic furniture NPC for 100g a piece if i remember correctly.

Haha, A Dark elf needs dark places....

Totally not Argonian meat or slaves kept in this house, nope. *Whistles*

Thats the trick of the house, to look seemingly lovely and normal, only then to be trapped in a darkened cage with nothing but a bucket...

And I'm sure you got that Argonian skeleton through entirely ethical means. Yep yep. ;)

The item itself is called "Podium, Engraved" Its purple quality. It can be bought with crowns, but im not sure if its craftable or not.

How much real money / ingame gold did you spend making this? I'm just looking at all the items you have and just considering average material price and blueprint cost, there are like several millions worth of gold in that house.

Also you have all the storm atronach mounts <.< how much did that cost you, holy crap.

That being said, it's pretty nicely made, must have taken ages to decorate. Just those bookcases alone, lol.

You and your childish justice. I'll rip it to pieces.
Come on, it's showtime. A rain of blood like a volcano

=P In terms of in-game gold im not entirely sure, i think i spent about 1Mill just buying different achievement items to see how they looked and what i could use, a lot of them ended up just sitting in my bank in the end.

In terms of crowns, well... Probably more than i should have, But i was in too deep already and couldnt resist getting the styles of items i wanted to continue with building and creating.

The bookcases, some you can actually get as a pre-filled item with 2 different options. These then only count as a single item, while looking filled, but trying to be creative with empty bookshelves and create your own is tough work, especially with the item limit, So i used a mixture of both self created and pre-made to get the look.

Very cool! I love how customizable this release is, but I agree on the item limits. Hopefully we will see an increase in the future.
