Guild Traders modification Idea

The eternal beaten to death topic of the Auction Warehouse seems to be taking life again. (And I'm not helping)

While the quick yes/no answer has the entire forum population fairly enough divided down the middle (at least, based on the recent topics and the ones that were taking place 2 years ago); I've been seeing a lot of people that either tend towards the 'yes' or 'no' while not being satisfied with the current system either. I find myself being one of these.

I would like to suggest a rather simple idea - here would be the basic rules but they can be discussed, modified, worked on:
The rental of 'Guild Trader Slots' to non guild players.

1. Each Guild trader would have a set amount of rentable (additional) slots. These may vary in number, in accordance with the popularity/value of the zone in which it is found, as well as the quality of the vendor.

2. The rental price of these rental slots on each Guild Trader is fixed, based on the value of the Guild Trader (the amount the guild pays to have the Trader). A more expensive Trader (for the guild) will have a more expensive rental price.

3. A percentage of the rental price paid by players to use the slots will be paid to the Guild that owns the Trader.

4. Each 'Rental' of a slot will be for a chosen fixed amount of time by the player, incurring the hourly rental cost, up to a set maximum time limit (24 hours?)

5. Rentals slots can be rented on a first come first serve basis, there is no Bid mechanic.

6. No player may have more than one slot rented per (Trader or Zone)

7. Players cannot rent slots on their own guild traders.

8. A rental slot could hold a single item or multiple items (To be determined)

9. Last and not least, less people worry, rental slots would not count towards the total Guild Trader slots available to the Guild and it's members, it would be a separate count.

The effect I hope this would have is that it would add more variety to guild traders for guilds in terms of which traders they hope to own (better placed vendors may have more rental slots and thus generate more revenue, in turn possibly lowering guild fees and the sort). While at the same time addressing the wants of players that are not in a guild that has access to a trader, by letting them rent slots on any trader (the better placed one being as expensive as a few thousand golds per hour to the lesser valued ones like .... I don't know, those in Malabal Tor, being a few hundred gold per hour), to be able to put a few items for sale out there. As all of this follows a determined set of rules, and there is no such thing as bids, as well as there are flat costs, this is essentially simply making mini-guild-traders accessible to everyone, while providing more worth to the existing ones and possibly adding more value to Traders for Guilds.

I'm not hiding I'm not happy with the current system, but I couldn't care less about an AH. I just want something different. This I feel, while not making immediately accessible to everyone to immediately sell stuff, would at least make it possible for anyone to eventually sell stuff. Additionally, this would be entirely built into the Guild Traders, would not modify the current system. It would obviously have some kind of an impact on the economy, but the limit of slots per player and the time frame would make it VERY tedious for anyone attempting to exploit through this. And I'm looking at the people with max Alts with multiple accounts that would attempt to get all slots... -_-

So again, I see this as more worth for the Guild Traders (and indirectly guilds), while allowing people that don't have a guild trader to benefit from them somewhat also. The impact on the economy (I feel) would be minimal, but then again, can also be a boon to traders as they are the ones scouring every zone trader to make a buck. So the zones with cheaper slots will have poorer (probably) players attempting to sell their things, probably cheaper (as they don't have the money to keep the slots for to long so they really want them to sell).

I can see a lot of good from this, I honestly don't really see the downside - thus the open discussion :) (And I feel it won't be long until someone rains on my parade haha)

This entire idea could also be added to include the same slots on traveling NPC Traders (with rates being cheaper and just being a money sink, no guilds involved) -> this goes back towards Gidorick's wandering Auction house though, with the exception that there would be no Auction, just the same as described above but being purely NPC, costs would be lower to rent because chances of being seen would be much lower. At the same time, it would make people WANT to find these travelling npc traders to see what might be found in the rental slots.
