PS4 Homestead Patch Size is 20.489GB

Hopefully I should have everything done downloading in the next hour or so. ESO downloads take longer than other game downloads for whatever reason.

Edit: It's actually downloading a lot faster than expected. Approximately 20mins. before completing. Downloading like lightning at the moment. O_o

Edit #2: I'm done downloading the patch. All that's left is for the servers to go live again, and it's play time. ^_~

What connection speed are you on? I am only on a 50Mbps, upgrading to 100 tonight though.

Downloading the whole game took 2.5 days for me. The homestead patch took all night and most of the morning. You think you have it rough? Life's tough on 500KB per second. BT still haven't got to us with h super fast broadband, been waiting 2 years.

This is on a pc with Ethernet...

Sadly I understand this pain. Where I am, the speeds have actually got worse rather than better. They refuse to upgrade the infrastructure if they have no contact from the government, so even if you're like a mile from town, the speeds are horrible. I'be recently gotten used to playing during the night and early morning so it's not as bad. But the random drops and lag I could do without.

Glad to know how large the patch is however. I can just play offline games while it downloads. I don't mind waiting. Only thing is having to micromanage the space on my PS4 lol.

I've just been told by some guy that its only 3-4gb, the way ps4 shows updates is they open the entire update file and download what's needed. Is this true? Can anyone confirm this?

Reason i ask is i can't do anything on the internet while the ps4 downloads due to my poor connection, if it is only 3-4gb i could potentially get some playtime in tonight.

@Adam2173 I haven't heard of anyone having a download of 3-4GB's of data. A lot of stuff was added, and therefore that size of a patch doesn't seem to quite add up. At least to me that is.

I really wish they could let us know beforehand how large a download is going to be due to the need for space management on the PS4 (whoever it was at Sony who thought 500gb was going to be adequate should be fired).

Yes I know I can upgrade the memory but a decent one will cost about £90 & need to save for that and Morrowind.

Really? 20gigs? Because I have 40gb of free space and it's telling me it cannot download because there's not enough space.

Mind you I was all up to date with patches and playing last night.

That's the fecking wonder that is the ps4.

Revealing my massive ignorance here, but although the patch was 20gb or so it only seems to have added about 3 gb to the saved data....but apparently for this the PS4 needs a huge amount of free memory, far more than the size of the patch. Gods only knows why but it annoys me as I usually gave to sacrifice another game when really I should not have to.

If someone can explain this, would appreciate it.

I have checked out the last few major updates and based on that was surprised this is only 20gb on PS4. I think the last couple have been bigger (1T and SotH) even though they were less than 4gb on PC.
