Another patch goes without fixing group finder.

Group finder is broken since homestead.. when are you going fix it?

    What is broken about it. Sure its a bit buggy, but generally works to do what you want.

    What seems to be wrong with it?

    I use it many times every day. It works fine for me until someone leaves the group and we try to find a new person through the group finder. It just never finds someone.

    For example while doing vICP we queued (for one person cause someone left) and ended up doing it after about an hour with just 2 people.

    Besides that, before the update I'd get into incomplete groups all the time (that have already killed some bosses) but that also hasn't happened a single time..

    Looks like main issue is entering dungeons with an full group.
    this tend to remove players out of dungeon again.
    Grinding just make you go in circles.
    Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

    Yes, this issue has been around for a while, the new person needs to change zones then TP to one of the group members.
    Not sure why that works but it always resolves the 'instance full' issue

    Premade groups are mostly affected by the homestead bugs. There is also like 50% chance to get the random dungeon rewards/mail.

    Biggest issue is with random dungeon daily reward. You are 100% likely to get the reward if you log alone or in full 4 premade group.
    But if you log 2 or 3 as random and leader of the group is passed on the "stranger" fourth person and he was logged as specific dungeon, nobody in whole group is getting the reward.

    Secondly, it's impossible to find replacement if someone leaves.

    It actually works wayyyyyy better for me then it did months ago. Maybe different platforms?

    Tbh, i think pugs are more broke then groupfinder. Get a group and someone drops. People die once and leave ect.

    On EU-PC, the group finder always kicks out a full party upon entering a dungeon, and puts the entire party on the 15 minute cooldown. Sometimes, when duo-queuing with a friend for PUGs, either 1 or both of us would not get the random daily reward. It's ridiculous, really.

    I use it from time to time and it always worked. Only thing that irritates is beting grouped with ppl that already did most of the dungeon and then droped a player. There is no point in joining them since you cant complete your pledge(bosses required for pledge alreay dead), but when you drop the group you get 15 min penalty.

    Bugs were reported in forums and via support tickets but no answer from the devs.

    LOL at all those who say that group finder is working well. I can list atleast 5-10 bugs which came with new group finder. Probably those who don't notice this just never actually abused group finder by playing 20 randoms a day like I did, or just people who can't tell a difference between *** and candy. Sorry for my language, but it's over 2 weeks that I'm not playing my 20 randoms a day, and ZoS making it look like everything is working well.

    Apparently ZoS see the statistics and the overwhelming decrease in people playing random dungeons, but they probably just address it to Homestead launch. "WOW we are so good people just playing Sims right now, they don't like to play dungeons anymore"...

    No. Good morning ZoS. Randoms was what I liked to do the most in your game and I'm barely doing one a day now. I didn't purchase house and I won't do it.

    For some reason it begins triggering Lua errors whenever it pops for me. I missed a dungeon because it triggered 980 (not an exaggeration) errors and I couldn't find the one line in there that was for ready check.

    It works fine most of the time. If someone leaves, or is kicked for not holding up their end (looking at you tanks with 15k health), then it never finds anyone to replace. Also, once you are searching for more, and you leave after 20 minutes of finding no one, I always get stuck in the queue, with no way to leave so I can queue for another without relogging.

    "After today’s incremental patch on PC/Mac, we identified an issue where character stats were not properly scaling in certain zones. This was ultimately caused by a fix we implemented with today’s patch to address long loading screens in zones with high player density. At this time, we have reverted this fix. However, we have applied a temporary fix for the loading screen issue until we have a more solid fix for it."

    Yep, I was also sad to read the patch notes, and once more, no fixes for the still broken group finder. Another week without doing randoms with my friends, thank you ZOS!

    Group finder is broken. We used it yesterday as a 4 man team for a few vet dungeon runs, and after the ready check it wouldn't teleport us to the instance even when we got the message that the group is formed successfully. Then we teleported ourselves individually into the dungeon, finished it and tried the group finder to start another run and it would teleport us out of the dungeon and then nothing... a waste of time.

    Many complains are not relevant.

    But group finder is a real problem at the moment.
    Love to crind, to sell, to explore, to heal, and to have fun.

    Please don't say that the group finder is working fine. If it is working fine for some of you but still not working for many others, it's not working fine. And to any who say that "it does its job": Yesterday I grouped up with 3 people to do a random normal. The group finder said that grouping was successful, it picked a dungeon, and we were ported in. After that, 2 of us were immediately ported out of the dungeon, and then we couldn't queue again, because "Someone in your group has queued too recently". So we said "have fun" to one another and we disbanded.

    I don't understand why it hasn't been fixed after 3 incremental patches, and why tests in Cyrodiil take priority over this, which is such a big part of the game. Not to mention that it gets broken after every single major patch.

    My findings are;

    Groups can be found.
    If someone leaves the group be prepared to wait a very long time for group finder to get another player if at all.

    Latest bug I've found is where group finder ports you in to a dungeon then ports the group back to where they where before the port. Then players have to manually port back to the dungeon.

    Also after dungeon completion, group disbands & go back to their map location and sometimes the group finder will pull everyone from the last group back in to the dungeon they've just completed. Only way to correct this is to leave the group which in turn punishes you by 15 mins for the group finder bug.

    Group finder is more for players with great patience.
