I have been farming crafting mats for awhile now, and encounter groups that the farm crafting mats. Now when it come to farming all mat are first come basis, except Leather (Scraps) drop by mobs because of this people group up to make it easier to collect. Which is fine, but there are groups that exploit the fact they can collect Scraps and do little to nothing, or setup those shady bot farming (Console and PC) and collect thousands within a hour.
Now I'm not against group farming if everyone is involved in the farming, but those that use a group and hide somewhere till a few minutes passed then loot everything the others kill, these people shouldn't be rewarded. Several Farming locations are also being hit by Bots time after time. Reporting these bots is a step but it doesn't mean it'll stop them as they'll make replacements. This type of Bot farms creates a Wax overflow and these farms can make several million gold a day, just on farming those spots.
So I'll use Riverspire's Sanguine's Barrow, for the example. I go here to collect scraps when I planning gold a piece of gear. I always farm scraps solo because it makes me feel I earned it. However this is also one of the Bot Farming hotspots. Which I made videos of them farming, and I sure others have as well.
--Math time--
In the cycle of rats there about 32 killed before coming back to the first group. In a cycle (Solo) I average about 25 scraps, 7 Foul Hide, and 800 worth of gold from other random gear.
Each cycle for me takes about 2 mins. So in a hour (30 cycles) on average I can make 25×30= 630 scraps, 7×30= 210 Foul Hide, and 800×30 = 24000 woth of gold from other random gear.
But a group of 12 people grouped together could collectively gathered in a hour, 630×12= 7560 scraps, 210×12= 2520 Foul Hide, and 24000×12= 288000 worth of gold from other random gear.
That not exact but give an idea on what can happen farming in a group. Note Foul Hide worth 9 gold at Champion Level. 2520×9= 22680 gold.
That 12 group people now made off with 7560 scraps and 22680+288000= 310680 gold in a hour.
The problem with this is not all 12 players have to do anything to create to their loot pool. Only 1 really needs to do the kill while the other stays in the area. This one of the reasons there are people botting the area.
My feeling on this is Group Mob Loot should be disabled outside Group only instances(Group Dungeons/Trials).
So that only way you get Mob Loot is actually hitting or cooperating(Healer/Tank) with taking a Mob down, similar to how you would if you were not in a group.

So to sum it up, I'm against group idle farming and those that idle shouldn't be rewarded mob loot, and I for taking out Bots farming sprees.
