Custom Arena (Housing) Fail! Will this be fixed?

ZOS will the flooring ever be usable in housing? We built a custom PvP Arena along with some other custom structures and none of them are usable.

We can't put any ground based AoE on the floor or knockback without going into mortal kombat mode.

Will this ever be a usable structure as it's really cramping our creativity, If not is there any plans to sell just a basic flooring plan without any structures so we can build our own with a real floor? None of the houses available have any room on the ground to build anything.

I believe that is working as intended. I could be wrong though

I second this. My guildmates created an awesome floating arena and we can't use it for the most part because of the no ground based AOEs allowed. It kinda sucks.

The creativity is admirable but last time I checked Homestead was created for housing ... not PvP arenas.

PvP arenas are coming in June.

I wonder if there couldn't simply be "ground mesh" for sale at a vendor. You put it right under the surface you want to be floor and it'd thereafter act that way for duels?

Creating whatever you can think of is what housing is all about. That includes custom PvP arenas in your backyard.

That being said, ground based AoEs should not cause player characters to clip through otherwise solid objects. I don't think that was intended by the devs and should be fixed.

Bet they don't even reply, We sent tickets and only got automated responses.

They should sell just a basic floor then we can just build our own castle or whatever on top of it so the floor actually works if we want to build an arena etc.

It's crippling our creativity and we can't roleplay romans in our colloseum!

Remember that (1) only send one /help ticket but reply to it relentlessly - sending extras about the same issue only clogs up the auto-answering bot (2) /bug is not replied to, it's to send system and other contextual data so it'll get fixed.

I realize you probably already know that but it bears reiterating as, after 3 years, people seem to not get it.

I wish you luck in your quest.

They do look at what kinds of dueling arenas people have created and praise some of them, and asked already on the PTS for feedback about dueling in houses, so I'm pretty sure it's intended gameplay...

Hope it's fixed soon and that there are more planks and flooring available to build stuff out of. Including planks that keep the rain from falling through them...

Any updates on this issue?

I just made my first dueling arena using wide wooden planks over the water and was disappointed to find it to be useless, as described here.

Nope it's still broken. Don't bother with it because your arena will be borked unless the objective is to be clipped into the ground.

That's ashame.

Seems like there are quite a few threads on this (and similar) topics. Haven't found any responses from ZOS, it'd be nice to know if they are even aware of this.

Arenas is an obvious idea for housing and both fun and somewhat useful.

Think the problem is ground based AoE on custum structures, they probably just have an simple collision mesh.
Do you get the same problem with thicker structures with collision on both sides like stone slabs?
Either this is simple to fix or very hard.

lol i also made a floating arena (probaly not as good as your guild mates) and have same problem, no ground based AOE's
