144 hz monitor overkill for mmos ?

    I run a 2k 144Hz GSync monitor and it's a superb bit of kit for a gamer. Is it overkill? Well, my last monitor was 1080p @ 120Hz and was also very nice, so this is really just an incremental upgrade. But I'd say compared to your bog standard 1080p @ 60Hz screen, a 144Hz 1440 monitor is going to be noticeably more pleasing to the eye.

    Well worth it. I run the game in 4k with a 4k monitor and will never go back

    Yes. It is overkill for this MMO. It is not overkill for other games, though.

    ESO seems to be capped at 100fps so 144Hz is a bit of a waste for this mmo. But 144Hz monitors are op for shooters, I have a 1080p 144Hz monitor that I use for bf and I love it. I prefer my 1440p 60Hz for eso though. If you want to ugrade and can afford it then go for it.

    i can afford it but i only play eso if i cant use it fully i dont know

    I did the uncapping fix in usersettings.ini and get the full 144FPS at times, i.e. not in trials or the godawful broken hellhole know as Cyrodiil.

    Does one need 144 in a game like ESO? That's debatable, but does one need a 500bhp car to drive to the shops? - No, but it's always nice.
