So I have a laundry area to clean my clothes that don't get dirty. So I have a kitchen to cook food that I don't eat. I have beds with sheets that I can't sleep under.

But where are the toilets?!

people in my guild are building them-using that banded breton pot (ya know the silver one) sunk into something so it leaves a hole-lol! i thought that was an awesome idea n wished i'd thought of it before i reached my item limit. now i don't want to have to figure out what to remove just to make a bathroom

There's no furnishing item specifically called "chamberpot" but that's probably what you want ;)

I imagine it'd be either a bucket or a hole in the ground. I've seen the pitchers and bowls for bathing in some of the npc housing. Rarely seen any bathtubs so maybe toilets aren't too common in Tamriel?

And what did you dedicate to be the "chamber pot room"? My house (Mathiison Mansion) doesn't even have rooms so I can't think of an appropriate place to put the chamber pot. I guess I could put it outside in the grass but with all that sophistication on the inside...

I have a found a clue that could explain the mystery of toilets. I looted this item -

    http://esoitem.uesp.net/itemLink.php?itemid=73783

"King Dumac's Royal Latrine Cloth Roll - Originally believed to be a banner of the Dwarven royal house of Red Mountain"

Dwarves had latrines and their kings had toilet paper! The secret of this technology must have been lost over the centuries.
For you now youll just to keep using your [Portable Chamber Pot]

There are MANY houses that come with buckets by the bed for the furnished versions. Lol

I knew there was one somewhere! I'd forgotten it was a contraband item rather than a furnishing.

You know, I just realized that Elswyr is pretty much one big sandbox. O_o
    Living vicariously through my characters.

    My Girls:
"If you were trapped in your house for, say, a year, how would you pass the time?"

Nephikah the Houseless, dunmer assassin: "I suppose I could use the break. I have a lot of business holdings now that need management."
Swum-Many-Waters, elderly argonian healer: "I think that I would enjoy writing a memoir."
Silh'ki, khajiit warrior-chef: "Would this one be able to go outside, to the nearby river? It's hard to fish without water!"
Peregrine Huntress, bosmer hunter: "Who is forcing me to stay inside, and where can I find them?"
Lorenyawe, altmer mechanist: "And why would I want to go outside in the first place? Too much to be done in the workshop."
Lorelai Magpie, breton master thief: "I'd go nuts. Lucky for me, I have a little experience sneaking out!"
Rasheda the Burning Heart, redguard knight: "I would continue my training to keep my skills sharp."
Hex-Eye Azabi, khajiit daedric priestess: "I suppose it would be lucky, then, that I built a shrine to Mephala in my backyard."
Yngva Stormhammer, nord bandit (reformed...ish): "I hate being inside even when I'm not forced to be. GET. ME. OUT."
Madam Argentia, vampire dunmer aristocrat: "I suppose it would be more of the same. I have a rather... contentious relationship with the sun."
Mazie gra-Bolga, orc scout: "Uh... I'd have to house train my bear..."
Felicia the Wanderer, imperial witch-for-hire: "What Lorelai said."
Calico Jaka-dra, retired khajiit pirate: "This one would like a rest from her grand adventures. Her jewel shop runs out of stock!"
Shimmerbeam, blind altmer psijic: "Provided that I am confined to Artaeum, I do not think I will want for things to occupy my time."
Shauna Blackfire, redguard necromancer: "Sounds like paradise. I hate people."
Kirniel the Undying, cursed bosmer warrior: "I would feel useless, not being able to fight."
Echoes-from-Dragons, argonian who thinks she's a dragon: "All the better to count my hoard!"

(Signature idea shamelessly stolen from Abeille.)

uhh well ever heard the phrase about "not having a pot to..."

there are quite a few large "pots" craftable and sitting on the floor broad and open.

just remember - do not stand under the window in the wee hours of the morning

Yes, and if that chamber pot is a little too common for you, there is this blue quality chamber pot for those who only poop in the finest earthenware -

    http://esoitem.uesp.net/itemLink.php?itemid=62372&summary

Ceramic Dark Elf Chamber Pot -A lavishly decorated chamber pot of rich Morrowind earthenware, only slightly used.

I havnt yet stolen an epic or legendary chamber pot, but I am sure this one out there!

It's funny, that golden pot and scroll are super expensive / rare purple fancy items, which I use for toilet paper and a chamber pot lol XD

Also, you can't see it, but I do have a wash tub there for bathing.
