Help with class choice between Templar and Sorcerer

I am having the hardest time making a decision on a class.

I've finally narrowed it down to Templar and Sorcerer. I don't like the way Nightblade feels or its class abilities and Dragon Knight doesn't seem to have the kind of flexibility I'm looking for.

PvE is my main focus, and soloing most of all. I'm interested in PvP somewhat, but mostly in the form of duels. I don't necessarily have a playstyle in mind, other than that I want to have the most options possible within a single class. I get bored with builds easily and so I want to be able to have a number of different options. I'm also a One Character only kind of player and so I want to be able to experience as much as possible on that single character, while messing around with other classes/characters will come much, much later.

The other thing is that I want to level as a hybrid, to experiment with it, and so I'm interested in whichever of the two classes functions better as a hybrid. I know that they're not viable for endgame stuff, but that's not really my concern.

So, all that said, suggestions?

If I were you, I'd play a Templar. You can go Destro and Resto and be very good at damage, very tanky in heavy SoulShine, and have very good healing. Vampire Mist gives you mobility for pvp

Dark Flare Fire Touch into Soul Assault or Radiant while they are stunned is a win like 90% of the time

In PVE you can just spam Jabs at everything and the more people you hit the more you heal making it a faceroll

Sorc has better single target DPS but is also very squishy. The Destro and resto Templar can either heal or DPS 4 man dungeons and can heal good enough for trials with simply an armor change. Sorcs can't do that.

Sorcs are probably slightly better for solo pvp though, but Templars are good in all aspects of the game. Templar is far more flexible in roles though. If you want varsity go Templar Sorcs are pigeonholed more then other classes.

Sorcerer's - The ONLY class in the game that is punished for using its class defining skill (Bolt Escape)

"Here in his shrine, that they have forgotten. Here do we toil, that we might remember. By night we reclaim, what by day was stolen. Far from ourselves, he grows ever near to us. Our eyes once were blinded, now through him do we see. Our hands once were idle, now through them does he speak. And when the world shall listen, and when the world shall see, and when the world remembers, that world will cease to be. - Miraak

Both classes have their own perks. However, if you intend to solo alot and want to maximize your options, I would recommend Templar. While you can easily heal with both classes, Templar offers a good variety, as well as allows you to move toward one of the more specific roles later with a bit more ease (i.e Tanking or healing) In the end it will really come down to your playstyle and preference, both are good choices. All classes in this game have the ability to do any role, with any armor. The biggest obsticale is your enjoyment and understanding of the available abilities for the classes you've narrowed it down to. I would encourage playing each to level 20, by then you will know if you like it or want to try something else.

I have a magplar healer and a magsorc pet/dps. Both are very capable so it depends on your desires.

I prefer the magplar because I like being able to help other players. She's primarily a healer but can dd carry weaker players in normal areas. Though at her best in the back healing and buffing, she (even in light armor) can jump in front and take the heat in normal areas if traveling with a weak player. Her defense doesn't come from loads of health or armor; rather, it is from the same healing that is her primary role. It is hard to kill her since she can heal so darn fast and well.

I love them both equally, they are my favourite classes too, and I have two mains, one of each of these, but templar is probably easier when soloing general pve stuff, I would say personally. Sorcerer is easier in some regards too (I find sorcerer easier in harder content, but it took allot more practise and patience to learn) but for me, templar was easy to play pretty much from the get go, you can heal yourself really easily, even as dd, and without a resto staff, sorcerer takes more work to learn to play well so if you wish to try them both out, I would go templar first, its hard to go wrong with them. That is my opinion on it anyway

templar is probablythe easiest class to play. massive heals , damage and spammable abilities. u can literally win duels with 2 skills and block on templar with a good build. id go sorc all the way- be it magicka or stamina- its the most fun I've had. the mobility is what separates it- overload is basically another skill bar- if ur looking for versatility, and theyre basically just nasty. they can play al roles- not all as well a templar- but decently. as i said- most of all theyre just the most fun.
