Twin blade & blunt - axe / bleed not working properly

• Each axe gives your melee attacks a 8% chance to bleed enemies for [x] Physical Damage over 6 seconds.

The passive from the Dual Wield skill line no longer works properly, as it only seem to proc on light / heavy attacks. Flurry, Twin Slashes, Whirlwind, Blade Cloak and Hidden blade do not proc the bleed, even when used within 5m of the target.

Actually it was this way for at least half a year. I only get good proc rates when doing a heavy attack rotation.
With light attack weaving it is worse for some odd reason

Odd, as someone who was already using it reported that specifically Deadly cloak didn't work anymore in Homestead (only got my paws on a vMA axe this patch >.>).

Technically, Flurry / Rending slashes are melee attacks, I could understand why the other ones don't work, but that's not quite consistent with the tooltip either.

Sticking to 2x daggers I guess.

Hidden blade should not proc it anyway in my opinion. Deadly cloak is one to be discussed, but i would say it also shouldn't.
Whirlwind shouldn't proc it either in my opinion. Rending slashes and rapid strikes on the other hand should definitely proc it but don't as far as i observed myself.
If i remember correctly @Jeckll said some of the NB melee skills also don't proc it, which is the reason he does not use an axe

For me the axe bleed in the heavy attack rotation deals around 1.4k dps in a normal fight. That suggests a 50% uptime. That's ok for me.
Oh btw i have not tested it after Homestead because i was mainly playing mag Sorc, but before Venomous Claw did proc the axe bleed.
Makes the whole issue even more weird

Intrigued to know about this, dropped two sharpMSA Axes and a Dagger. Not leveled my Stam toon yet but keen to know what works / doesn't!

Yeah the Axe bleed doesn't seem to be worth it right now, the bleed barely ever procs. I could see it being good on a stam DK and even better on a Stam DK heavy attack build, but anything else? Not worth it. Even less on Stam NB and Stam TE because of their crit passives. Plus the DPS it provides is only single target, whereas the Dagger gives you a benefit to your already crap AoE damage on top of ST damage. I guess its down to personal preference, but since it has an extremely low proc rate because it doesn't proc on Rapids, its really not worth it currently IMO.

When we talked about it, I said rapid doesnt proc it. Surprise Attack does. With a maelstrom weapon rotation, the bleed is not viable at all for nbs.

Back when I used an axe the surprise atk light atk weave proccs it quite regularly.
