Last patch broke my game! :/

Hello, after installing the last patch (20 and some Gb!) I can't launch the game any longer. After clicking "play" I get the following message:

"The program can't start because api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is missing from your comuter. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."

I am not going to download and reinstall the whole game from scratch... is there a workaround for this?

They addressed this on the last ESO Live as an issue not directly from the game but rather the PC it's running on.

    They recommended the following.

Google search the .dll error and there are guides how to fix it.
Make sure you have all Windows updates including optional updates.
Make sure all graphics drivers are up to date.

If you still have issues submit a support ticket via the support page. https://help.elderscrollsonline.com

I had the same problem, and once you get that dll, it will tell you there is another dll which is missing.

In my case, the issue was with my Windows Update, I noticed it wasn't installing updates, and standalone patches will get stuck on "searching for files on your pc" part forever.

If this is the problem you face as well, I did the following to fix it.

    1. Open services.msc
    2. Stop Background Intelligent Transfer Service
    3. Stop Windows Update
    4. Goto C:\Windows\Sysdistribution and delete everything from there.
    5. This got my Windows Update working fine again, I uninstalled VC Redistributable and installed it again. ( I am not sure if this step is necessary, but I did it anyway)
    6. Update Windows
    7. Reboot and voila, game should work now.

    Hope it helps!

This should posted on Technical Support., but anyway since i had this exact same issue you can try and follow what i did, provided you are on Windows 7.

    1) Make sure you have Service Pack 1 installed and the update KB2999226
    2) Go to your Zenimax Online folder, Under Launcher scroll down and find vcredist_x64_2015 and vcredist_x86_2015
    3) Run and install both and you should be able to play again. :)

    Hope this helps!
