Guys on PC, can you confirm please if any changes has been done to that Dual Wield passive? There are rumors that daggers no longer give crit, axes dont give bleed and swords dont give extra spell/weap dmg. Is that true?

It is a flat 2.5% increase in Actual damage from each sword, not spell damage, you get the same amount of spell damage from whatever day weild weapon.

what is the difference between flat damage increase and spell damage increase if i care about spell damage? does that mean it doesnt get any bonus that would affect spell damage? and is the damage plus coming on top AFTER all other bonuses are calculated?

    day weild weapon?

Didn't they make the 2nd day weapon you wield contribute slightly less wpn/spell dmg recently?

They are working fine. In my opinion, Bleed (using 1 Axe) is better than 2.5% crit from dagger.

Im asking about dual wielding bonus for spell damage / magicka characters

the bleed only works for melee attacks and the dagger crit on weapon criticals (which is 5% not 2.5%?)

This passive (and others) seems to have changed a lot, a lot of information is outdated - its really hard to keep track if youre not lookg at every change constantly

The difference is that "spell damage" is a stat that you can add to and is part of the calculation that gives you your actual damage output. All combination of dual wield give you the same amount of spell damage, it is only swords that increase your actual damage after your damage is calculated.

Using shrouded daggers/flying blade can proc axe bleed afaik. Not sure if that would benefit any magicka build.

It never boosted magic damage. Only melee since it's a weapon skill.

    WHILE DUAL WIELDING
Grants a bonus based on type of weapon equipped:
    • Each axe gives your melee attacks a 8% chance to bleed enemies for [x] Physical Damage over 6 seconds.
    • Each mace causes your attacks to ignore 10% of an enemy's Physical Resistance.
    • Each sword increases your damage done by 2.5%.
    • Each dagger increases your Weapon Critical rating. (by 5%)

Sword damage bonus still works with all damage types. However, the sword bonus from twin blade and blunt is actually much lower than 2.5% and is by far the weakest weapon type. I explained this in more detail in another post: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/380834/sword-could-use-a-small-buff-twin-blade-and-blunt#latest

This HA with swords don't give back magic and you need to HA after morrowind, it might work in PvP but my PvP style is healing zerg :)

They also dropped in popularity due to the different staff types getting bonus damage to certain skill types. Lightning to AoE and Fire to Single Target.

Used to be the 5% bonus for swords did apply to spell damage. The meta for a magicka DPS was to go dual swords, with a staff on backbar. As far as I can remember, that got changed last year sometime, but I can't remember exactly when.

The extra damage done from using swords work the same way as e.g Minor/Major Berserk, which also increases your damage done.

Damage = Tooltip * Resistance * Critical * Damage Done * Damage Taken * Execute bonus

The passive from swords would go under Damage Done

Hardly anyone seems to make use of it now tough, is this due to resource mgmt?

Majority of people i was aware of used DW swords on their magsorcs for Overload curse and liquid lightning. Back then you could easily two-shot people and if you didn't, your Molag Kena would proc giving you a total of 4500 spell damage. After the nerfs to Overload people stopped. That was some time between IC and Orsinium if I remember correctly.

The thing about this is that the twin blade and blunt passive goes away when you enter overload, the only thing that stays is the spell damage, not the 5% damage done, so you could use literally any dual wield weapons for this set up, was usually julinanos body, kena monster set, and 5 elegant on your back bar. Was a crazy good build. So much fun, could hit 60k overload light attacks eazy.

With that in mind, people still payed 200k to 750k for sharpened swords of elegance. For literally no benefit that using 2 maces would of brought.
