Cannot complete "A Bit of Sport", Ebonheart

This quest, A Bit of Sport, is bugged for one of my characters. I keep drinking from the keg, but it does not make me drunk. With my other characters, the screen starts to glow blue as they get more drunk, and then they can fight NPCs, but not so with my Nord.
I have literally had 50 Mugs in a row, nothing happens. The NPCs that I am supposed to fight do not offer me the option to start a fight.

What I have tried so far:
-Abandoning the quest and taking it up again.
-Logged out, tried again a few hours later.
-Deactivated all of my Addons, reload UI

Nothing helps. Please help me fix this.

EDIT: I have also contacted ingame support, but they only send an automated response, not helpful at all.

My client runs in German, "Abgeschlossen" means Completed, so it keeps switching between the "Tap the Keg of Black-Briar Mead" and "Drink a Mug of Mead" states.

    I did this one a couple of weeks ago, and it worked. Try going to the Keg and not talking to the NPC first. I did this one a few weeks ago and it worked, but I think it was out of order as to who to talk to.

    It's not possible to interact with the keg before you take the quest.
    I can complete it just fine with another char, only this one single char has the bug. There's people all around me completing the quest, too.

    Hey -

    You're not alone, I also experienced this issue earlier today. It appears to be a bit random as there were loads of people around me clearly having zero issues with the quest. I've also tried the steps you mentioned and still had no luck. Ended up giving up on it for the time being, hopefully it will get fixed soon.

    Sorry, I missed typed, I talked to some of the NPCs around there first before talking to the quest giver. I did try to activate the keg though, but your right, it should not matter as it is not scripted to be an activator until the quest is active.

    So, it was more, who I talked to was out of order.

    It seems that some quest interactibles are borked after Homestead, this might be one of them. This quest worked for me prior to Homestead.

    @ZOS_GinaBruno Can we have QA look at this please

    I forgot to mention this: I first had the problem the day before Homestead was released, then tried again after the patch. So I'm certain that, at least in my case, it's not Homestead related.
    I haven't played that char since then, but I maybe I will try doing some additional quests and then go back to the drinking-sport. Thanks for your advice!

    Also having trouble with this quest. I've tried abandoning it and picking it up again, and all combinations of talking to each NPC before and after looting and subsequently drinking the mead, no dice.

    Meanwhile, other players are doing the quest around me without difficulty. After talking to them briefly, I don't believe I'm doing anything wrong.

    So @ZOS_GinaBruno is QA looking at it, as Nestor requested? Seems like quite a few people have a problem with this quest.

    Having the same issue. Still not fixed. And it is bugged only for some characters. I see other ppl doing this quest.

    Well... I write this during PS4 EU server (that I am actually playing) maintenance. And after server came back online, quest was fixed.

    Don't know, what this mean. May be some fix was applied or perhaps some other players will be affected by this bug now :)

    Just had the same issue with this quest as well on NA PC. I was able to do the first 2 fights with no issues, now I am just stuck in a loop of tap the keg > Drink > Tap > Drink etc. I cannot get out of it. Relogged, disabled UI etc. Still the same issue.
