Thanks ZoS for fixing group finder..... NOT!

100 threads, thousands of support tickets, and all they fixed in this patch was dog barking? Are you for real?

Those people who pay ZoS enormous amounts of money every month are to blame. You make them fed. They don't care about people complaining. They are drinking pina colada right now laughing. "We earned huge amount of money this week on nothing. We just make copy\paste to already available models and got hundreds thousands (millions?) of dollars for it. Damn we are good."

"Group finder broken? Calm down boy... all you need now is to open crown store and check out cool houses :-) You want them :-) You need them :-) You don't need group finder. It was broken intentially so you could spend more time on housing and not waste your time in dungeons :-)"

Maybe, just maybe and I don't want to shock anyone here, but maybe fixing the group finder is a more complex issue which requires longer work than fixing the dog barking.

Likely true, but the Group Finder has been bugged in one form or another since launch.

Seems like it should have been fixed by now.

Isn't the issue that they fix it to an acceptable level, then break it again with a new change to it. Wasn't it working fine for the most part before Homestead.

Unlikely. They could just put the version of the group finder back in that was there before the Homestead update. Because that one, while sure having its issues, was clearly not as broken as what they gave us now.

It might not be simple to do that though, we don't know how their side of the game is set up or coded. That might even break things more than they already are.

They fixed the dog barking? Isn't that what dogs suppose to do? Bark? Why did they shut the servers down just to do that?

Yeah, possibly. Let's just say it's a sad thing that they replaced the okay working group finder with a very broken group finder, did not test it sufficiently beforehand (I mean, how hard can it be to use it a few times on the PTS with a pre-made group, then they'd have seen how it misbehaves), and now need more than a week to fix what they broke.

Some of the PvE players who were there might have. It wasn't all just PvP streamers.

From what ZOS has said it sounds like the last day they had an open roundtable to talk about anything, so it could have been bought up then.

Also there is never anything stopping players giving constructive feedback on the forums for them at any time, they just might not acknowledge it.

yup. I'm barely playing dungeons even on my tanks and heal characters... I'm not even bothering with dd.

    Group not viable.
    Group not viable.
    Group not viable.
Ready check passed. Entering dungeon. Someone leaves. Que for sub. Sub system not working....
Leave dungeon. 10 minutes left to wait to try again...

    And like this in circles.

I guess I'm lucky, I haven't had issues with the group finder at all. When I queue up on my tank, my healer, or either of my DPS they take the usual amount of time to get into groups (by usual I mean Tank-near instant, Healer = couple minutes, DPS = 5-10 minutes.)

Even finding replacements for people who leave early for whatever reason seems fine.

I know that when homestead first launched the "No Thank You" addon was having issues with the new ready check(massive UI errors) but I fixed that and now all is well.

    Ummmmm okay.

Crazy conspiracy rants aside....I was able to clear up my group finder issues by removing a couple of conflicting addons...also Thorazine comes in grape flavor now, you might want to check it out.

Breaking the group finder each major patch is an official ESO pastime. All part of the ZOS experience.

Same. I haven't had any unusual problems either (I don't use addons).

From the sound of things - if it says the "group is not viable" message I believe that means one of the players was AFK and never responded to the ready check. The new group system no longer automatically warps AFK players inside the dungeon after a minute wait.

Here, I'll break down the patch notes and give my honest opinion:

    Dog Barking: YAY!

(I've had enough of Giblets barking on my main).

PC's invisible in Cyrodiil: Mas o menos

(Darn. Everyone was looking forward to getting free passes on Scouting missions, without fear of getting attacked by a cold-hearted ganker.

I'm joking. I don't really care about this as I'm not a big fan of PvP anyway.)

Crash upon attacking Sentinel: BIG YAY!

(I thought this crash was a memory leak. Seems I was wrong. But very happy that I can now run through the Wailing Prison without fear of crashing).

Crash upon Wayshrine/zone change: BIG YAY!

(Like I previously mentioned, I thought this was a memory leak. Wrong again. But very happy that I can now change zones and go into instances in the main quest without the game blowing up on me.)

However, I do hope they get to work on the Group Finder soon.
If you can't handle the heat...stay out of the kitchen!

I'm playing as tank and healer mostly. 5 seconds and what? It makes ready check. Then it writes group wasn't viable. And like this in rotation 4-5 times until finally finds a group. After entering dungeon one of the players leaves and then its not possible to find sub because the system is not working.

If you played 3 random dungeons since homestead launch and didn't discover any kind of problems I'm happy for you. But you see all the people complaining, they are not lucky men like you and faced alot of problems with new group finder.

What? What happened? Where is it?
    - You stupid, I've taken it just now.

That staff was an illusion. Where's the real one?

FIXING the GF is the wrong approach.
They should just SCRAP it and code a new one from scratch!

Or buy one from another company if ZOS is unable to code such an important (minor) program!
Every other MMO's grouping tool works like a charm, compared to this!

SCRAP IT AND BUILD A NEW ONE

Today out of 6 dungeon runs I tried only one went well. 6 persons in one dungeon, porting us out on entrance etc... It's hard to believe I'm playing not a beta state game.

ZOS have had >3 years to make the Finder work. I mean, all multiplayer games release with a working one, it's THE tool in an MMO. It simple, small, and in any other game it just works.

Of course, the ZOS development team have never really come across as the sharpest tools in the box, so I imagine it will just stay broken, but 'hey, crown crates, garbage for your houses, Morrowind, nothing up my sleeve baby'.
