Will I be missing a skillpoint or skyshard if I skip past the starting tutorial story?

When you skip the tutorial, you'll end up at level 3 with the skyshard and 3 skill points, so you can purchase the first skills of all three class skill lines.

So all you're gonna miss is some potential loot from the chests and mobs in the Wailing Prison.

If you skip the tutorial you start as Level 3 char with 3 free skill points to distribute.

Well, you might miss the early supply of extra lockpicks, but not much else. Not as many containers in the jail area as there used to be, imo.

Or, you would miss the fun of grinding for many levels prior to exiting the Wailing Prison. Since One Tamriel, I level my character to 15 to unlock weapon swap before I leave the Prison... this way I'm better able to utilize more combat skills from the beginning.

on the other hand if you do starting tutorial story and fully explore each zone doing all the quests etc including minor ones, you will be much higher than level 3 by the time you exit the tutorial story zones, likewise your crafting skills will have had a bit of a boost too

What about if I had already completed an existing faction main quest and used the caldwell sliver to do another faction main quest, do I collect skill points from those quests as well on top of the 1 I got from my default faction main quest?

its a long time since I last did it, but when you go to the other factions quest/zones you get skill points as per your default faction quests/zones..

its a long time since I last did it, but when you go to the other factions quest/zones you get skill points as per your default faction quests/zones..

So if I complete Aldmeri dominion quests I get 1x skillpoints and if after that I complete ebonheart pact I get 2x skillpoints?

You have to do it at least once before you get the option to skip it.

If you already have a level 50 character and some CP points, then completing tutorial again in second character is pointless. Same for gear - sell and don't repair low-level gear, until you reach level 50 and unlock CP points - which btw. are account wide.

All you miss are a few XP points and a headstart to the skill lines you put your first 2 points in. But you will catch up fast to it (it might not even be a headstart due to the lack of mobs in Wailin prison. I havn't tested what gives XP the fastest)

Run around killing the daedra guards and feral prisoners over and over and over and over. They respawn.

Someone actually stayed in the prison until level 50... I'd have gone insane from boredom.

I've currently got a level 15 in there on an alt account, who I plan on eventually leveling to 50 without leaving. He's The Wailing Prisoner. He's not leaving ever.
