Weather in Housing Yards/Courtyards

Something I have noticed at my house is that the weather in the courtyard is usually never the same weather as the weather just outside it, in the particular zone it's in.

Not only that, but it seems it is almost always overcast and raining...which is actually what bothers me the most. :( I wonder if it is intended that way, or if the weather was just coded wrong or something.

Has anyone else noticed anything like this? It seems like every single time I go outside, it's thundering and raining. And then I step outside my door, and it's clear skies.

I just think it's really odd, and would love it if it was more consistent with the weather of the town the house is actually in. Or at least had a little more sunshine, like the world often does just outside my door. :)

I think it's because the houses are different instances.
Weather seems to be pretty varied from what I've seen.

The weather isn't the same as outside because houses are instanced. Meaning they are not part of the same environment you see when you step outside. This way it's impossible to create the same weather type.

A similar thing was brought up a few days ago about not being able to see NPC's in the town your house is in. This also is because the town you see from your house is a decor town, not the actual Riften or whatever town you're in.

I do understand that, but I was thinking it would be really neat, and could possibly be not a big deal, to link the weather to whatever it is in the zone it's in. For every instance of that particular house.

Really though that is not what bothers me the most. It's the fact it is literally ALWAYS raining...lol. Makes me think it's heavily coded for rain or something, for some reason.

I just find it really odd. :(

As for the "overcast and raining" thing... that's likely just bad luck. Unless your house is in the northern parts of the Covenant... the weather there is just gloomy by default. ;)
    Living vicariously through my characters.

    My Girls:
"If you were trapped in your house for, say, a year, how would you pass the time?"

Nephikah the Houseless, dunmer assassin: "I suppose I could use the break. I have a lot of business holdings now that need management."
Swum-Many-Waters, elderly argonian healer: "I think that I would enjoy writing a memoir."
Silh'ki, khajiit warrior-chef: "Would this one be able to go outside, to the nearby river? It's hard to fish without water!"
Peregrine Huntress, bosmer hunter: "Who is forcing me to stay inside, and where can I find them?"
Lorenyawe, altmer mechanist: "And why would I want to go outside in the first place? Too much to be done in the workshop."
Lorelai Magpie, breton master thief: "I'd go nuts. Lucky for me, I have a little experience sneaking out!"
Rasheda the Burning Heart, redguard knight: "I would continue my training to keep my skills sharp."
Hex-Eye Azabi, khajiit daedric priestess: "I suppose it would be lucky, then, that I built a shrine to Mephala in my backyard."
Yngva Stormhammer, nord bandit (reformed...ish): "I hate being inside even when I'm not forced to be. GET. ME. OUT."
Madam Argentia, vampire dunmer aristocrat: "I suppose it would be more of the same. I have a rather... contentious relationship with the sun."
Mazie gra-Bolga, orc scout: "Uh... I'd have to house train my bear..."
Felicia the Wanderer, imperial witch-for-hire: "What Lorelai said."
Calico Jaka-dra, retired khajiit pirate: "This one would like a rest from her grand adventures. Her jewel shop runs out of stock!"
Shimmerbeam, blind altmer psijic: "Provided that I am confined to Artaeum, I do not think I will want for things to occupy my time."
Shauna Blackfire, redguard necromancer: "Sounds like paradise. I hate people."
Kirniel the Undying, cursed bosmer warrior: "I would feel useless, not being able to fight."
Echoes-from-Dragons, argonian who thinks she's a dragon: "All the better to count my hoard!"

(Signature idea shamelessly stolen from Abeille.)

Haha! It's in Wayrest, and when I go outside, I see the sky so much more often than at my house.
