    Well, if I remember correctly, that already existed in the beginning of eso.
    And let's not forget: The "big announcement" that turned out to be Vvardenfell, a new class and also battlegrounds, isn't that the time they should've mentioned this new skill line, too? You know, for building even more hype?

    If it really turns out to be added though, I think current staves will be turned into 1h weapons (no ridiculous staff dualwielding ofc), that can be combined with Runes which will work like shields as offhand, and probably carry jewelry specific enchants instead of max stats. This could be finally an option aswell, to give staff users access to 2/5/5 piece bonuses.

    But since I'm sceptical that it's going to be added, I will keep the hype and expectations low for now.

    Because, who knows? The Warden officially returns after a long long time too. "1h + Rune" can do that, too :smile:

    I wish there were books as a offhand weapon (like a shield). It would have three types (like destruction staff or one/two handed weapons), they would be tome of alteration (defensive magic for magicka tanks, it would conjure a barrier in font of you when you block), tome of illusion (for cc and invisibility) and tome of conjuration (for summoning stuff or replacing yor mainhand weapon with bound weapons tat dal mahir damage). Destruction and restoration are alredy tied to weapon type, with these we would have all of The Mage skill lines from Skyrim.

    That was my first thought soon as I saw the picture. I don't ever remember running around with a rune/orb in my hand in any of the games. Seems awfully weird to add in something that wasn't normally part of the series when they had so much other stuff to choose from that's already there.

    It seems to me like creating a new weapon skill line based on a "Magicka SnB" would turn the changes to ice staff somewhat idiotic, so i guess this is just artwork or spellcrafting.

    As I said somewhere else, a reason they might not have included this in the Morrowind announcement is that this is not part of the Morrowind expansion, but instead part of a base game patch. Locking a new weapon skill line behind an expansion does not really work with ESO's character system.

    That said, there is basically no evidence this will happen. The datamined stuff has been there for a long time, and the depictions in mock-up screenshots and the trailer are most likely artistic choices. If people take this as a confirmation, I think they will be severly disappointed.

    Ha ha.. I've seen a few toons (I'm sure they're sorc) throwing blasts like this from their bare hands, but not as rapid or fast as Goku's. In ESO, it is more like lobbing small mortar size blasts from their bare hands. Still, without a weapon.. nice

    Skyrim was a bit like that. You could equip a spell in one hand and a weapon in the other.

    to be expansion worhty, and not just another DLC we pay way to much for, they better add things like

    - new class => check (altough the skills Warden have seems to be a mix match of what they had lying around, Ice, nature and summons, with alot of heals, + tank and damage... not to sure bout this, better would have given nature damage line with poisens and vines and such, nature heal line and pets, and leave Ice for something else like litch or is something that fits like NB methinks with dam and slows)
    - new playable worldmass comparable to multiple maps => semi check, Vvardenfell is like 2 maps, think if they added the Telvanni peninsula to would be better
    - engaging main quest with new bad guy showing up => wait and see
    - new world skill line or such (Lich with offencive Ice/poisen/undeadsummon, but yeah, next to sorc pets ( wich has always felt wierd to me pets for sorcs), warden pets, a 3th summon class is a bit much) => doubt it
    - new skill line per class or 3th morph options or SOMETHING => doubt it
    - new weapons/weaponskilllines (1h+rune, rune dual wield, polearms like spears, halberd, quarterstaff, 2h & 1h crossbows, throwing weapons, flails,.... => still sceptical
    - a serieous balance overhaul, not like the last one => doubt it
    - new Pvp mode => check

    Yup makes sense, I can't imagine how they could lock a new weapon skill line behind a paywall anyway, which works for a new class on the other hand without problems.

    And yeah, I also think it's "artistic freedom/choice", how they depicted the characters in the screenshot.
    But again, I like being surprised :smile:
    And that's not hard to do, if I keep my expectations low, to begin with :wink:

    I wouldn't mind unarmed combat and fist weapons :P. Claws totally would be physical dot damage type of weapon.

    I think not.
    I belive that adding new content is what makes the games feel like it's actually developing, like it's not stationary but it's in constant evolution.
    By adding everything in one go, they would burn their chance to keep the hype spread on a longer period of time, killing the sense of development, and therefore, letting down the community.

    They've got to save up some bullets.
