Paintings and other wall decorations not being selectable after placement

I've had two paintings and a lantern become unselectable in the housing editor after being placed on the wall. It's like they've become part of the wall. Can't select them in the editor, can't store them or move them. Even if they're partially embedded in the wall, there should still be a way to select them, but no dice. Really is annoying because I want to move one of them. It only happened with one of the lanterns (I placed several), but now there is no way to move it.
