Stuttering/lag in trials/high populated areas...help!

I know Eso has its lag problems but here is my question: Why do some people lag and some people dont when in trials, etc?

Ive just spent 500 bucks trying to improve my connection to see if it help i just want to ask some people who are on xbox one that have little lag in trials what set ups they use.

Here are some things ive tried:

1. bought a asus rt-ac88u router which is rated one of the top gaming routers.....no fix
2. upgraded internet to 100mb/10mb up
3. tried clearing mac address on xbox
4. deleted all games on xbox except eso
5. cleared all quest, turned off all combat text

nothing seems to help with the stuttering/lag when im in trials, i really want to at least improve this somehow as im trying to do more hard modes and complete maw but the lag keeps me from being competitive (cant use rotation do to .5 second delay in skills, hard to see boss mechanics cuz everything is stuttering, etc)

my xbox is pretty old (had sinse release day) could this be an issue? im running out of ideas so if anyone has some insight on things i can try it would help a ton

NOTE: i havnt tried opening ports yet is that another option? before people just bash the game, i know it has issues, i just dont understand how i lag and an aussie playing in my trial group gets zero lag on NA servers and he is in AUSTRALIA!

Brand new XB 1S. Games always been that way for me since October. I think that's just how it is...

even with the s huh? hopefully the scorpio will help fix this issue. someone told me that the xb1 s only gives a 5% performance increase then the standard xb1 but with the scorpio hopefully dropping this fall its rumored to increase performace by 450%, so hopefully thats the case lol
