[HOUSING] Any tips to create floor/ground

Hello fellow decorators.

Is there any way to create some kind of neutral floor? Even a dirty ground would help.
Im trying to build a little khajiit space outside in my bosmer home, traveling by 4-5 khajiit cities i did notice there is a nice decorated ground pattern that i know its impossible to reproduce so i would like something more "neutral", did try planks, but the available ones are gross and too irregular.

Light stone blocks have a clean style but they are too tall (since they surface is the only thing that matters) and to make a little space for carpet + desk + chair like the one in the picture i had to use 20+.
Can you folks provide some tips for this humble architect?

There are some rough stone blocks that are thinner that might work. I can't think of their official name , but they're about half the height of the regular stone blocks.

Otherwise, depending on where you're setting the blocks, you might be able to turn off the surface collision and embed them in the ground a bit.

My favorite flooring type is the Orcish Platform. It's a darker wood that looks nice and even, yet has some texture. Even better, it's fairly large compared to other platforms, so it doesn't chew up your item allotment nearly as quickly!

Here's an example of what I did with them on the PTS:

Otherwise, docks work for a lighter wood tone. The other option is to sink those blocks you have into the planks a bit... as long as you don't ever need to look at them from below.

This one bought Gorinir Estate in northern Grahtwood and is very pleased with it. Not only did I get three indoor areas made of tasteful Bosmer-grown tree pods, but this one also acquired a large outdoor area to keep pets in. But this one has discovered that there is more area to play in than meets the eye at first. There are several challenging, hard-to-reach areas that this one has discovered and is exploring.

To do that, this one went to the tavern in Glenumbra, the name is something like the Roasted Lion but not sure. This one knows a Breton woman who sells magic floating stone blocks. Once you put them somewhere, they stay and don't fall down. Using many of these rocks, this one built graceful walking paths high in the air, from the pod structure all the way to the tops of the cliffs on either side.

Up there is like a whole new world. It is extra, I think. Something the seller didn't know about, or he would have charged more. I will put pictures here.

The last picture shows me standing on top of the other-side cliffs, looking down on the party platform.

One last thing this one must mention. It is possible to climb on to the large branch of the giant tree growing beside the middle pod of the house. You only need to make connection. I did this using a giant boulder, turned on its side with the flattest part on top. You can use the giant boulders instead of stone blocks to make the sky paths also, but they will not be as smooth. Do this if you need to reduce the number of objects used in path making.

Well, the problem with these rocks (and the ones in my pics) is that they increase the item count too much since they are small.

Looking at the furniture lists, there seems to be a 'Rough Platform, Stage' too...there is a picture here, I don't know if that helps.

You should be able to partially sink the blocks into the surface so that only a small part of the surface shows. Unfortunately the PC NA server is down right now so I can't provide a picture to demonstrate this for you.

Thank you so much, i am gonna try the Orcish Platform (if they dont require too much hearthwood) in some spots and docks too (great ideas) , there is a limitation though, a fire pit or water well wouldnt sit well in a wooden platform, that is why im trying to emulate stone or dirty "floor" so much.

You can, pressing "T" if i am not mistaken, the height isnt really my grip, its wasting hundreds of objects when the only thing i need is the effect of its surface while all that "blockness" is being wasted.

Can you specify what is "docks"? So far i have been unable to find any to sell.
