Current class tiers in PVP & PVE

Coming back after a few months away, looks like some nerfs have went out during that time. Whats the current class/resource ranking look like in PVP and PVE? Seems a few of the big performers dropped down from the posts I've seen.

I cant really say for PvP as i dont play it much but for PvE id say for pure dps.

1.mag sorc
2.mag dk/mag temp
3.mag blade
4.stam dk
5.stam sorc
6.stam nb
7.stam temp

not 100% sure where stam nb and temp are at for homestead as i havnt played them much.

basically all magicka classes will outperform stamina in all around DPS. single target damage may see some stam chars a little higher. Im basing this off trial/end game content ranking.

I think mag dk and mag sorc are gonna be pretty close, not sure about mag templar with radiant nerf (havnt tested yet) but will still be very good.

PvP all the classes are pretty viable since DPS isn't as important in PvP. My opinion from a 1v1 perspective is
1) stam dk
2) mag dk
3) Stam sorc
4) mag sorc
The other 4 classes are all interchangeable after this. With the new dragon blood mag dk may also be ahead of stam dk.

Group play
1) magplar (nothing even comes close)
2) mag dk/ mag sorc
3) stam sorc
The other classes are pretty much even between 4-8 with a noticable mention for magblade for its bombing potential, but one in a group is all you need so I didn't rate it higher.

Solo play 1vX
1) stam sorc
2) mag sorc
3) stamblade
4) stamplar/stam dk
5) magblade/magplar/mag dk

In PvP every class has their purpose and can be good. I actually think the classes in PvP are pretty balanced with just gear sets being unbalanced. Usually if someone is just getting into PvP the class I recommend for them is either mag sorcerer, or stam nightblade both these classes are tried and true and you can't go wrong with either. mag sorc is really good because not only is it pretty much top dog in PvP you can also easily switch to PvE and be just as effective.

Dks are way too slow and lack the burst damage of a sorc. The two most important things in open world play are mobility and burst. Dk is good but it's not as good as a sorc for solo PvP.

PvP 1vX has always been sorcs and it hasn't changed.

PvE DPS:
1. Magplar/Mag Sorc
2. Mag DK/Stam DK
3. Stam Sorc/Stam NB/Mag NB
4. Stamplar

This is in terms on overal performance thus taking into account both AoE and ST dmg. Stamina does quite a lot more ST, but magicka does around 3x AoE.

Not talking about solo PvP but 1 vs X. mDK = best damage + AoE CC + good ressource management + very tanky. Skoria + BSW + Amber with grip against sorc very interesting.
Otherwise, recovery is more and more important than burst (except for gank build or bomb build) in open world and you right mobility is very important.

For PvP. Wrong, for 1 vs x sorc can not win 1 vs 4 they run away where as DK can do it. Stam sorc is not really strong for 1 vs X not enough tanky but have the best ressource management, so for solo RvR they shine.

For PvE. MagPlar is far superior in termes of dps than MagSorc because boss have some adds. MagDK ~ MagSorc in trial boss but with theory dps against skeleton Mag Sorc is number one.

ive been hearing that mag dk is pulling highest dps in trials now and magplar being down to 3rd behind sorc with homestead not sure if this is true as im on xbox and havnt been able to test for myself

For what it's worth, they got a nice little boost in Homestead. They're still probably best off as PvP characters, though.

Lol k. mDKs aren't any better. The only buff that mattered was Coag. Even then, all of the mDK sets were gutted. A pre-patch mDK with Trainee/Desert Rose much better then any current mDK can be.

StamDKs have much stronger burst damage through the Stamina weapon lines, access to an execute in Reverse Slice, stronger self-healing through Vigor, and a crapload more resources for blocking. MagDKs are certainly a lot stronger now in PvP than they were last patch, but they still pretty heavily lack burst and thus killing power. It's still one of the hardest PvP playstyles in the game, so I severely doubt we're going to see StamDKs swarm over to Magicka.

Wouldn't a Trainee/DR build be basically all sustain and no damage? Sure, both those sets were great for MagDKs, but BSW was their true powerhouse set, and that hasn't been touched at all. Also, DR still has the highest potential for Magicka sustain in the game, it's just more in line with other sets now.
