I should have said I'd pay $50 for the transfer if I already had an account in the target platform (which I do). If I didn't own the game on the target platform I'd be willing to buy it and then pay extra for the transfer. So $60 gold edition + $50 transfer?

Compared to the amount I've spent transferring characters and switching factions in WoW over the last 12 years that's quite a small amount.

I can only see this being within a platform not platform to platform cause they way it happened previously was all identified accounts were manually copied and imported to the new platform before the server was launched. Basically how PTS is done

If it comes, it seems limited to patch update days .....my lack of details may be wrong but ZOS seems very limited in account save manipulation across platforms


Logically the better way would be to sync accounts across platforms via a upgraded server type and merge of some sorts

For a reason that no longer exists. Players who started the game need launch were given the option to change to console when it was released to increase sales and subscriptions early in the game.

They had a very narrow window to take advantage of the transfer and if they missed it then to bad.

Zos made it clear that it was a one time deal and would not be offering it again. Ofc things change sometimes.

Why would it have to be a one time transfer? I can't begin to describe how great it would be to boot up my PC account on my PS4 and then go back to my PC any time I feel like.

Cross platform play would be nice too. Then I could go questing with my wife while she plays on one and I play on the other.

That would just give unfair advantage the cross platform to those that only have one version, this is why MMO's should never go console ha.

How is that an unfair advantage? The two versions are practically identical. The biggest difference is laying on my couch and playing on my 55" 4K smart tv versus sitting in my office chair playing on my 27" monitor

That is totally a matter of personal preference. Saying a keyboard and mouse is superior to a controller is like arguing that a piano is superior to a guitar.

It's more about "who" is using it than it is about the device itself.

I think you just prefer the keyboard and mouse because you're more comfortable with it, not because it's actually better than a controller.

You could exploit the market on both ends

Depends on how they do it. If all systems were cross-platform, the economy would normalize across all platforms pretty fast. There wouldn't be anything to exploit after the first couple weeks.

That is the reason you aren't likely to see a transfer. If they allow it, they would have to simultaneously disable the first account to prevent things like this.

The fact that they did not wipe all of the items from the source platform (PC) after the transfer continues to astound me. Of course people would load their friends up with everything if it wasn't going to disappear. I am not one who is smart enough to think of clever tactics and exploits in games, but this one was obvious to even me.
