Flour Rarer Than Gold - Thousands in Tamriel Starve

Since finding I need twenty units of flour to make a single tiny candle, I have searched everywhere and can't find it for sale from any NPC in any zone. Yes, you can get it stealing and looting, but it will literally take me hours....for a single candle.

It seems to me that it was sold by grocers at one time. Was it removed simply to make this a huge pain?

Ask in guilds you are in or in zone chat... with crafting bags there are people who have provisioning mats in the thousands and tens of thousands and it would be extremely cheaper than buying from grocers at 150g(iirc) a piece.

Not as rare as you think, I literally have near a thousand of it.

The best place to grind ingredients are delves if you dont like stealing.

But you can get quite a bit by stealing kitchens and NPC houses, check youtube for specific locations, the best way to make stealing easy is first get night silence set and then check guild stores for Night Terror jewelry, it does not have to be purple, even green will give you the 3m reduced radius in stealth.

Try it out it's not so bad.

Thanks for the replies; I didn't even think about getting some stealth armor for this.

I guess I was mostly venting the frustration of decorating Hunding's island w/o spending crowns, but I'll have to suck it up:)

Second that you want a 'Flour Sack' specifically; that way it can't be anything else. Check Coldharbour; IIRC there's a sack in the kitchen of the inn there at the very least, and you can take everything in the Hollow City without it counting as 'stolen'.

The short-term solution is as others say, to go into delves and look specifically for "flour sacks", but the long-term solution is to train up all your alts in provisioning and then get max-level hireling mails. You then get provisioning ingredients in stacks of 20 every day when you log in to those characters! It's always random which ingredients you get, but by doing it on all your characters you greatly increase the odds of getting huge stacks.

Literally can get like 10 flour on the docks in vulkel guard. They are labeled "flour sack"

Today I found there are something like five Flour Sacks on the Daggerfall Docks where Chef Donolon appears. All free for the looting.
