Sorc Pets cause chain lightning in AA

As the title says, Sorc Pets cause chain lightning.
Is this intended? If so, i think that is a bad idea.
Chain lighnting is a mechanic that should cause players to spread during the fight.
With the pets causing it also you are forced to either play with no melees or Sorcs must not use pets.
An other point why this does not make sence is the fact that this is inconsistent with other behaviours.
For example pets do not get affected by the debuff in vMoL, so they are not a pain in the a*s in HM.
They also don't count for the explosions during shield phase in vMoL first boss.
