Volatile Familiar does not hold aggro anymore

Can anyone confirm whether Clannfear has functionally changed, or is it just the Volatile Familiar?
I've never used the Volatile Familiar (so I can't compare them), but I've used the CF for tanking, and this is what I generally see:

    1. I attack first: mobs go for me. ONE mob peels off when hit by Clannfear. Mob stays on Clannfear after I start attacking.
    2. Clannfear attacks first, I attack second: Everything not being directly attacked by Clannfear goes for me. Mob on Clannfear stays on Clannfear.
    3. Clannfear attacks first, I don't attack: Same as #2, with one caveat: if any enemies remain near the Clannfear and are NOT attacked by me, they will often shift aggro to him when he tail swipes. Those mobs subsequently stay on the Clannfear, even when I attack.

So I would anecdotally suggest the following:

    1. Clannfear definitely "taunts" his target.
    2. The tail swipe appears to have a similar taunt mechanic.
    3. Proximity is NOT a factor; mobs will run right past the Clannfear to attack me or - if she hits something - the Twilight Matriarch.

Side note: I haven't tested whether or not the Matriarch holds aggro against a player attack, but I can confirm that the Clannfear can pull a mob off the Matriarch.

@Kozai You have to keep Y held down while you press the mouse button. Left click sends them to attack the target in your sights, Right click makes them go passive until you send them to attack again. You can change the key bind for the command button as well.

Ah, I didn't realize you had to be holding the Y key down while doing the click, I can't think of any other commands in ESO that require simultaneous key actions like that. I was tapping Y, then clicking the mouse button. I'll give that a try.

I'd definitely endorse the general idea that you let your hopefully-about-to-tank pets attack first and establish aggro, before attacking enemies yourself.

But then, that's a good policy with humanoid tanks as well. :)

Enemies will now aggro onto you or your pets based or who attacks first.

If you walk toward the enemy, they will very soon aggro onto a pet. If you walk towards and attack the enemy, they will no longer aggro to your pet. Using pet skill casts (like Familiar Pulse) also counts as you, the caster, dealing damage.

You essentially need to not hit enemies until they aggro onto your pet, then start to fight them. Also if your pet fails to hit them in too long a period of time, or your pet dies, the enemy will aggro onto you again unless you cease all damage dealt from your active skills on them.

Enemies always aggroed me after my pet died. Many are the times I kited madly but in slow motion, resummoning my Clannfear, and then continued to kite until he had established aggro again.
